I've had several people assume it was a GT. Then when I tell them it's a 4 cyl, they act surprised and don't understand. When they ask me why I would get that and I tell them how much HP it has, for the most part they understand. There is always a few that say, "well I'm old school and it should have a V8".... MUTHA F****** I'm older than you!!!!! Technology is a wonderful thing.:ford:

A co-worker who sits cross me, who I'm not too big a fan of, and who also happens to be a die-hard prius driver/environmentalist, found out I drove the "8 liter 5 cylinder gas guzzler" GT, confronted me about it in front of other people in an aggressive tone. She was asking me questions like:

"Do you feel good about tearing holes in the ozone layer everytime you drive to work?"

"I bet you use all of your 800 horsepower in stop an go traffic, right?"

"Are you trying to compensate for something driving that car?"

"I hope you tell your future kids all about how contributed to the global increase in daily smog levels because you thought it was cool to ruin the environment when you were young".

Tell her to research the total environmental impact of her Prius. I hate people like that. Also I guess she doesn't understand that your car has to pass emissions to be sold and the cats take care of most of the NOx (what creates smog). So many rebuttals...not enough intelligence for it to be understood.

The only people who have dissed it are some of the people on this forum-mostly in jest and no biggie. But in person the only comments I've gotten are general like "What are you going through a midlife crisis or something?" "Don't Mustang's break down a lot?" "How much money do you make anyway?"

I don't have one yet but I actually think the "it's just a two door Fusion" comments that have been made since the S550 reveal is kind of funny and not all that inaccurate in terms of the front-end styling - which has grown on me once I saw it in person but doesn't change the fact that it's it shares the new corporate frontend design language with the Fusion.

The funny part is if any 2016 Camaro fan says that about the S550 now you can just tell them that at least the S550 doesn't look like a two door Impala or Malibu ;)

So far, my friend just makes fun of the fact I got an automatic Ecostang, tells me I should of got a manual GT

I use to reply NYC traffic, now I just answer, "Much easier to get Road head in an auto"

I was at a parts store picking up some cleaning supplies. Employee told me it was a very nice car. Then he proceeded to ask me if it was a V8, I said "no it a V6", and he said "oh I'm sorry".

My first question to people like this is "How Many Children Do You Have"?

If they have even a single child I go off on them about the exponential impact of adding another human to the planet. If they are a true environmentalist and don't have kids I explain to them how much oil was required to build that little piece of crap they drive. Pretty sure the plastic isn't made from soybeans, yet those still require oil to plant, harvest, transport and process.
