Facts! I'm going through lemon law procedures on a 2024 Civic Touring and my 2024 type R has more creaks and squeaks on the interior than anything I've ever experienced. My 2 brand new Honda's make my Ford's build quality seem like a Lexus in comparison.
I’ve had good luck with Honda but nothing surprises me anymore, sadly.
What is wrong with the civic?

Most knocks get louder with higher rpm not quieter.

I may try it. Thanks for the suggestion.
It really is like magic. I developed the classic typewriter tick after my first oil change. I put Ceratec in and it immediately went away. Now my engine has run better and never has any noises that I can hear unless I open the hood.

Ceratec is a friction modifier that fills all of the micro imperfection on metal-to-metal surfaces. So it immensely reduced the friction between any metal contact! Better MPG and better smoother running.

The funny part is that the service writer told me, "Yeah, but you still have the 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty..." to which I replied, "what good is that if you won't fix it when there is clearly already an annoying problem, but just not catastrophic?"

The good news is that the noise goes away after idle. I just hope it doesn't come apart at 7,500 RPM merging onto the highway...
if it was rod knock it would be consistent and increase with rpm and would go catastrophic very soon.

32 valves. 32 lifters. 4 cams. 8 pistons. 16 injectors. lots of other crap going on in there...

Drive it until it blows up. Then the dealership has to replace it.

Maybe some piston slap when it is cold. Does it get better as it warms up? My 2.7 EB in my F150 is noisy as hell when it is first started. Sounds like stuff rattling around on the engine but according to the guys on the forum, it is the waste gate actuators that rattle until it warms up. It really does hurt the brand's reputation when they build stuff that just sounds and feel junky.

The American built civics are just as terrible with build quality imo
Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion. But let me tell you about my 2005 civic... It had 184k miles when I sold it in '22. I could haul ass down country back roads to my house with the radio off, windows up, on a cold, dry winter day and it would never make the slightest rattle of any kind. Anywhere. I can't think that's just luck. That's a mark of quality and workmanship.

I could also grab gears so fast in that car it was insane. And it wasn't even built and sold as a performance car. Lol

Ford has A LOT of shit to work on. But I'll never buy another ford again anyway. These fixes, should they do them (and they won't), will be for THEIR future. Not mine. I've had 5 Mustangs now. None have ever been such a disappointment as this '22.

Just curious what specifically are you disappointed with on your '22?

I don't hear anything unusual for a gen 3 Coyote. With the Direct Injecton system, they can be very chatty. Ceratec will help, especially with the BBQ tick. But I wouldn't obsess over it. Your dealer is absolutely correct. Nothing to see here...

Also, the Camaro and Challenger engines are quite noisy too.

Sounds normal to me. I wouldn’t worry about it, especially if you’re still under warranty. All the better if you have a Ford ESP to help beyond the factory warranty as well.

Yup. This is my second Mustang, and I've owned two Hondas. I thought they would have gotten better 7 years into the S550 platform, but compared to my 2015 GT, the radio in the '22 is less powerful, the radio seems cluttered with the navigation system, the highly praised Tremec shifts like a dump truck when it's cold (as in, almost impossible to get into 2nd or 3rd gear until it's warmed up), and surprisingly, the brakes don't seem to stop the car as well, despite what the specs and magazine articles say.

I wish magazine writers discussed all the real-world problems these cars have rather than just talk about all the good points. I wish Honda could build a Mustang.
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

The interior is the most appalling rattle box I've ever sat in. I don't even like letting anyone ride in it. It's embarrassing and unacceptable for a $20k car, let alone the prices we pay for these cars.

The driver seat is uncomfortable. No matter what I do, I'm constantly readjusting. I can sit in my 04 Mach 1 and drive hours on end. This thing has me hurting in minutes.

The transmission won't allow a fast shift. This is supposed to be a sports car. What a joke.

The gears in the transmission were chosen by someone with down syndrome. The only good gear is 1st. All the others are too long, except 6th where you want it!

The engine sounds like it's getting ready to self destruct.

E.T. is constantly trying to phone home, or do whatever the hell it's doing, which is always running my damn battery down.

The trunk lid drags when I open it.

The paint is a thin as they could've possibly applied it and will etch at just the thought of getting bird shit on it. Yes, my car is ceramic coated and done frequently. Doesn't matter. The clear they use is garbage.

Multiple recalls in just two years of ownership. And for a car that was built for 7 model years before mine rolled off the line, you'd think things would be square by then? Ha! Not at ford. They'll repeat the same problems again and again and drag the already disappointed customer back into the stealership over and over, like our time is worthless.

They put a tracking device in the cars and then sell that data to insurance companies every time you go around a corner too fast, or hit the brakes too hard, or hit the accelerator too hard. Yes, I've de-fused the situation. But still. Fucking really?

The list just goes on and on. I'll stop for the sake of OP's thread.

Mostly the knocking sound at this point. Luckily it goes away after the car is moving. A few other things some would consider nit picking, but on a car with a $60,000 MSRP I should not have body fitment issues, what looks like wrinkles under the seat cover as if something was accidentally stitched in in multiple places, color variations between panels, an occasional popping sound coming from the front left suspension, and clunking in the differential. I will say the car sounds great revving out and seems planted. Ford was so close in almost making a great car.
