Move the provided nut higher up. a nice tip is to put the car in reverse when installing the knob since you'll know exactly how far down the provided nut can go.

Just takes a couple of tries

Once you get it sorted out, and lined up with the reverse lockout functioning properly....

  1. Reverse the knob off.
  2. Wrap the threads under the lock nut with two rows of electrical tape.
  3. Removed lock nut
  4. Apply loctite (blue or purple)to the threads of the handle
  5. Reinstall the nut and knob.

I get the concept but like I stated the nut is moving, locking down, when the knob hits it. I'll try the above tape method. Thanks guys.

Yes. The nut will move. I set the nut up high so that as I move the knob down it would move with it. This helped get it lined up the way I wanted it, the easiest. Then the loctite comes in and after a few hours, you will be good to go.

Man, who needs tech support when I've got you all.

Also, the nut doesn't move on everyone. Some people just use the nut and it's fine. Some cars it moves.

I am working on a more elegant solution, or possibly including a small blister pack of blue loctite if I can get it in bulk discounted.

Some pictures. Will need to pick up the loctite this weekend to get it fully installed. Love it though.
Very cool!

:eyebulge:

Ordered October 30th and was assured it'd be 3-4 weeks, worst case scenario. That's the only reason I placed my order because reading the posts here really brought up a lot of concerns.

Unfortunately I'm one of you guys now.

I actually placed an order with Flossy Knobs on December 7th since a few friends mentioned they got theirs in 3-4 weeks. A few days from now will be 14 business days that Flossy Knobs state the wait time is for engraving. No update from them either.

I'm not really the one to bash companies -- I'm sure the shift knob will be great whenever it does arrive. However, I just absolutely HATE when expectations are set and not met with businesses, it really gets my blood boiling.
