Did some maintenance.
  • Rear differential fluid
  • Transmission fluid
  • Coolant
I used all genuine ford fluids. The car has 50k miles on it now, all of these fluids are supposed to be good for 150k miles but the diff and the transmission both came out almost black. I think it would be extremely foolish to push this to 150k. Maybe in a lightly driven street car, but not in something than you want to beat on.

Diff magnets were mostly clean, fluid was a bit sparkly but nothing abnormal. Trans fluid was super dark, but not sparkly. The coolant I did in two steps. Drained the radiator, filled it back up. Warmed the car up, drained it and filled it again. I didn’t feel like pulling the thermostat housing off to drain the rest, and I couldn’t find a block drain.

Calls for 97ml of friction modifier, bottle comes with 118ml so I took 21ml out to get 97. This feels like more precision than is needed lol

Into the oil it goes

pump it in…slowly

I also finally got my driver side heated/cooled seat fixed! I paid the dealer for this one I didn’t feel like peeling the seat myself. The rear thermoelectric device failed, which seems pretty common. Anyway it’s working again! ….$900 later šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«
