I'm assuming I can't be the only one that's decided to wait for the next model year? .
Next year's model is always going to be better.

The 2 new cars I've purchased in my life were the first year of a complete refresh. I've never had issues or looked at new models wishing I had different options.

But its your car. Do what you want. But, you'll have to watch them drive around for a year before you get one... :)

I think I'm going to wait until the end of the 15MY and see if I can get one with some incentives on it.

I'm anxiously awaiting the rumored 2017 Mach 1 (or perhaps a Boss 302). I think by then many of the initial bugs in the S550 will be found and dealt with (or at least known and documented).

Most of all, I hope a different shade of blue comes out. I'd love a classic Acapulco Blue or Medium Metallic Blue. Deep Impact is just a bit too dark for my tastes. I'm imagining one of those two old school colors with some black/gold Mach 1 or Boss stripes would be just plain killer. I'd even love for Wimbolden White to become a standard color, as I think the S550 looks amazing wearing it.

However, I'm also wary of what the future may bring as well. People are touting direct injection as being the next big step, but I'm really apprehensive about it. I just want a "plain" ol' 5.0 in a good looking Mach 1 package that will last me forever. I think we're headed towards another round of government-pushed power cuts for the sake of impossible CAFE standards, so I really hope Ford can work up a great "retro" package before everyone gets smacked back down to Earth. I don't think this current trend of ever-escalating power will last too much longer, though I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see a definitive Ford answer to the Hellcat, as absurd as it is.

Hoping for a auto specialty variant in 2017 or 2018.

If they release a new set of colors for MY16-17 and I place an order for an MY15 I will probably jump off a cliff. About any other color could be introduced and I will probably prefer it to what we've been given thus far.
There is evidence that we will see additional colors added THIS model year. As someone else pointed out, a new touch up paint color has surfaced, and IIRC it was Top Notch that hinted we may see more colors before the end of this calendar year.

So, if you're that unhappy with the current colors, you may want to wait another 2-3 months and see what happens.

One of the cars I considered getting if I didn't get the Mustang was the F-Type Coupe. There are trade-offs in either direction. Obviously the Jag is 1,000 times better looking than the Mustang, but the two seater is less practical, and it's likely to be more expensive to maintain than a Ford.

Choices on my radar too. And a used Porsche 911 Targa S.

You just made my night. I though that TopNotch guy/stig-thing was just making a random thread like some kind of wishlist. I noticed that touch up item you mentioned... now I'm WAY too excited to get any kind of sleep right now!

LOL, sorry about that.

Obviously there are no guarantees (yet), but there is at least a glimmer of hope it seems.
Which touch up paint color surfaced?

Personally, I truly believe Ford's pocket book is big enough to go this high end but would they sell them? Takes a long time to build a reputation as being knows as a sport/luxo brand like jag.
I'm crossing my fingers for an S550 based Lincoln coupe. Ford needs something to compete w/ the 'V' Cadillacs...

Life is short. Live for the moment. Sold my 2011 in April, my 2015 can't come quick enough. And I'm not usually one to go against the flow, but I don't like the F-Type styling at all. I think the car is really weird looking. Wish I saw what everyone else does. To be fair I'm not crazy about the styling of the S550, but would certainly prefer over the Jag.

Luckily I prefer function over form anyway, so it's all moot. I'll have the ugliest car on the block so long as it's faster than the other guy. Out of the box the F-Type won't be a whole lot faster than the S550. With the blower I'll inevitably strap on it's no longer a fair race for the Jag.

I actually can't stand the rear of the F-Type. It looks like they just decided to lop it off. Reminds me too much of a Porsche 928 bubble butt.
