You know your a Mustang fan boy when you find your self typing....

Better looking? Really? The Mustang 2 looks better than any Jag, give me a vinyl roofed Grande, or Ghia from the island of misfit Mustangs. All Mustangs look better than any Jag.

I only wish I was kidding,

I agree with you for the S550, but you absolutely cannot say that all mustangs look better than ANY jag. You crazy.

you speak the truth!

I'm assuming I can't be the only one that's decided to wait for the next model year? Don't get me wrong, Ford has done a great job with this car from what I've seen, but I'd like to see if they offer some better colors and color combinations (interior/exterior) and the availability of some other options that I know a lot of people would like to get. I don't exactly need a new car right this second, although the Jag XE now has my attention (Jag marketing always sucks me in) as a potential lease until m/y 2016 comes for the mustang.
Wes, your sig indicates you're driving a 91 5.0, looks like you've waited long enough.

Or this? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the looks of the S550's but the F-Type is a great example of what you can do when price point isn't so important.

Personally, I truly believe Ford's pocket book is big enough to go this high end but would they sell them? Takes a long time to build a reputation as being knows as a sport/luxo brand like jag.

And Wow great photos!

For thought I have to say being first gen college from truck drivers, bus drivers, foundry workers, and farmers in my family the Mustang blue collar heritage just make them the most beautiful. I remember the Mustangs winning in Europe when I was too young the understand how GT350 was different than our neighbors straight 6. I've always loved Mustangs. Love is not blind, love let's you see truth.

Best regards to all car lovers,

DeColores

I've had the '91 since High School, paid cash for it then and will probably never get rid of it. I just turned in my BMW 335 lease about 9 months ago, so I'm just hanging out with no car payment until I make the final decision. I'll always have at least one mustang in the garage :ford:

I thought about waiting just to get the little bugs worked out. Mostly because I had a 2005, which being a new model like this one is, had some issues. Fueling never worked quite right, even after the recall, the mounts for the convertible motors were poor and had to be replaced, the electric motors for the entire dash went out and had to be replaced, and that's just issues I personally ran into. All annoyances that were fixed (some very quietly and without ever admitting it) in the next MY.

In the end... it's a new Mustang, and I just couldn't resist.

Thanks! The fox will always be a permantent fixture in my garage, and I rotate out a newer second car usually of the european persuasion. Depending on changes they make in the following m/y though I might be swayed to have two Ponies in the garage.

Admittedly, I'm not a Jaguar kind of guy and their new cars are typically out of my price range, and this F-Type coupe wasn't even on my radar until right now... but, damn, that's a fantastic looking car.

Wow. Kudos to Jag's designers. :clap2:

Fun fact, their design director is the brother of Fords Design director

They had a number of Jags at the Portland Rose Cup races, and it was quite surprising the number of similar options they had to the Mustang.

Of course, at $100k+, there's a lot more there, but a number of the features are in the Mustang: Push Button, rear camera and sensors, gigantic brakes, cockpit feel, side collision detection, rain sensing wipers, lots of speakers. Even the interior materials seemed pretty similar, although I didn't get to sit in it or open it up, it was late and no one was around.

Definitely nicely built cars, but I didn't really see anything in that car that made me think. "Wow, my Mustang just won't hold a candle to this..." It seems more like a status thing than anything else.

I always thought the Maverick Fastback would have made a Better Mustang II than the Pinto did. I mean basically the Maverick replced the Falcon.
