Drive it stock for awhile and enjoy it for the great car it truly is. Get to know it, get a feel for it. Enjoy it. There's always time to mod it later, and the more time you spend thinking about and researching it the more informed your mod choices will be.

Start off with some new fatter wheels and better tires, the GT350 rear valance with Ford Quad exhaust. None of those will effect your warranty, and I bet the better handling from the tire upgrade and the extra rumble from the exhaust will probably satisfy you for quite a while.

If not, then get the FR performance package upgrades installed by a Ford tech with Ford tune, so warranty is in tact.

Best mod you can ever get for a car is the driver mod. I like when people are ready to mod a car they haven't even learned or grown on. That's why we see so many Mustang pictures and videos of people running into shit. Upgrading shit way beyond their ability. Take your stock car to a track event... You will leave with the understanding that your car probably had more power than you could use.

Start with cosmetics then upgrade the handling then look for power. What good is a car if you can utilize the power.

Mod order:

1. Sound (for fun, it really makes driving a lot better)
2. Handling (focus on balance, consistency...worry much less about "flatness")
3. Braking (if doing track days)
4. Grip
5. Power

Some of you will go nuts looking at this and saying, "Grip #4, he's crazy, that should be #1!!!!". Respectfully, no. It's a lot easier to learn a car's handling and limit characteristics with less grippy tires*. Ever driven a car with slicks? Mega grip, but when they let go...they let go.

*caveat: if you have the stock 235/50R18 all seasons, get rid of those pieces of garbage ASAP. There's less grip (say the stock P-zeros on the PP, the wider A/S of the 255/40R19 P-zero Nero), and then there's inappropriately low levels of grip for the size of the car. That's what those are.

I don't understand why you would want to mod the suspension if you have no plans to track or drag race the car???? You started off by saying how much you love the car the way it is. Listen to yourself!!! No mods = now worries from a warranty stand point. I ended up buying more than I really needed because I bought Steeda Progressive Sport Springs and then didn't install them. I still have the un-opened box in the garage. When I really thought about having a car that was lowered in a place that snows and no other car I'd be sorry. Turned out to be a good call, we had a pretty snowy winter this past season. I also just purchased a new house and the entry to the driveway is pretty steep and I'd probably scrape the shit out of my front end going in and out. I'd say base any changes on something you really NEED or HAVE TO HAVE and not just do it cause everyone else does.

Yes it's only a 30K car but for me it might as well be a Ferrari as this is at the top of my budget.

Definitely getting a lot of inspiration from this forum and looking at everyone's mods and builds.

I will definitely post once I start doing some stuff.

Oh I probably will upgrade the stereo. Nothing major just crisp clean sound.

Since i dont drag race or anything i would just make it sound good, throw on a cai, do some exterior/interior mods and ill be good. Make it a pleasurable daily driver that looks good.

That's exactly what I did. Wheels, suspension, exhaust. Keeps the power train warranty intact. 435 HP is more than plenty for a daily driver. Not going to spend any time at the track or strip. Just want a head turner. Just ordered the Roush fascia as well.

Sounds like a good plan. Wheels/tires, OEM tune and OEM radio are all minor "safe" mods that you can easily revert back to stock if you plan to sell the car. It gets iffy once you start considering body kits, forced induction and crazy suspensions mods.

I just picked up a base GT manual as well and I will definitely be modding it. Very minor stuff, just addressing the things that bother me most as the car sits right now. Interior first (red katzskin, oem premium aluminum dash trim, aftermarket 8" upgrade, GT350R wheel).

I have the same problem. My car is a 2 week old GT Premium and I need to keep my warranty as long as possible. I just installed a Roush Axle-back, and plan to install a PMAS non-tune CAI, and an X pipe. It should add a few HP, but it sounds so much better, even just the axle-back made a huge difference in sound. Eventually when my warranty is almost up, I'll get a Lund Tune, and maybe headers. I'm not too concerned with the suspension as I don't bring the car to the track, and the stock 20in wheels and summer tires that came with the car are nice enough for me.

A catback exhaust is easily reversible and has no effect on the warranty, function or general use of anything else on the car ;).

If I knew what I know now, exhaust would've been the first thing I did, not the last (most recent). I was hesitant about going louder than stock for being a wake the neighborhood guy, but it's not that bad. You'd have to go corsa Xtreme or roush with resonator delete to be that loud.

This is my plan. FRPP strut, suspension track pack, Ford brakes upgrade. And when the FRPP tune comes out that will be the last part. And going to go with MPSS tires to maximize grip with base wheels.

FYI the FRPP suspension track pack has much better reviews than the street pack which is basically the PP with lowering springs.
Next week I get the pack installed if your interested send me a PM will let you know how it goes.
