No, what you got was a canned response saying, "All dealerships are independent businesses, and under federal statutes we have no control over how these businesses price the products they sell."

There's a big differerence.
BINGO, people aren't realizing this...

ADM exists due to limited supply. Ford controls the supply. Therefore it is clear that Ford does not mind having ADM on these cars.

You don't mass produce specialty cars and put 10 at every dealership, especially when producing those cars takes away from the production of cheaper, better selling vehicles. Your argument would be more relevant IF Ford got any of the ADM, which they do not.

Who must first buy the car from Ford. Ford could stipulate No ADM, or No Car. Ergo, they don't care.
No, they actually can't. You'd be surprised how strict the laws are regarding the manufacture and the end dealership. Check out Tesla's battles selling cars directly over the past few years.

Yes, they can "For instance, an agreement between a manufacturer and dealer to set maximum (or "ceiling") prices" right there on teh Federal Trade Commission site.

Also from the FTC site "A manufacturer also may stop dealing with a retailer that does not follow its resale price policy. That is, a manufacturer can implement a dealer policy on a "take it or leave it" basis."

For at least the 10,000th time here: No, by law Ford cannot stipulate no ADM. Dealers, as independent business people, are getting ADM because buyers are allowing it to happen. Don't scream at the dealers - go yell at the people who willingly paid ADM. But get ready to duck, because most of them think they got fair value for their money.

You need to go back and read the whole document you referenced, because it in no way applies to ADM. Ford is not price fixing the ADM on these cars.

The only way Ford could influence ADM is by following the Chrysler Hellcat business model of not sending additional Hellcats to dealers who are holding them in stock (usually because of ADM). Unfortunately, that's where the comparison ends, because Chrysler decided it would increase production and build as many Hellcats as the market would absorb. That ramp-up took a year, and it's not something Ford can do with its stated annual production limits of 4,000-5,000. That certainly won't change for 2016, and I'm guessing it won't change for 2017 either.

Dodge can't afford to not sell more Hellcats... Ford can afford to keep the 350 limited.

Will there be a 2017 350? I've heard of a few dealers having 1 2017 allocation but that's it.

My dealer thinks he's getting two, but I don't think the 2017 allocations are official yet.

They don't even have 100% of the 2016 allocations set yet. They typically dole out more towards the end of the model year if there's capacity to spare.
