Check the price sheet on the main 350 section. The 350 us $47,870. The R upgrade is $13,500. Destination/delivery 825. Gas guzzler tax $1,300. That's $63,500 with none of the packages; just the base car. Add all the other options- black roof, stripes, electronics package, car cover etc. you're at $69k.Since when is a fully loaded R 75k? And what dealers are asking for adm and what they are actually getting are two different things.
Ok $69 not $75k, I guess you cannot add the track/tech packs to the R. Still the point remains.
First, there are only 9000 some members here. There are how many hundreds of millions of 16+ year old people out there? People seem to like to use a forum of enthusiasts to represent the general public when there is little correlation as this is a microcosm of the public.I've heard and read the reports. I've also been around this stuff for longer than some on this forum have been breathing. The retailers shoot for the moon with a car like this asking 10K, 20K, 30K, over the MSRP and some on internet forums erroneously assume that they are getting it. Nonsense.
Johnny Customer who makes $400-500k a year doen't care if the car cost him $20k more, if he wants a Gt350 and to be the first on the block for bragging rights he will buy it. He doesn't know any better or about ADM or production numbers etc. being discussed here. You merely assume everyone in the public has this knowledge people here do which is simply untrue. You also assume people have common sense and are good with their money which is generally untrue as well.
The same forum people talk about older models still on the lots- Boss and GT500 which they said oh they won't sell them with a $20k ADM and then come back and post the dealer did get it. For every one educated person on the subject there are 9 uneducated who see a shiny Shelby and must have it ASAP for whatever it costs.
And technically NO ONE is getting anything as taking money up front would be illegal. The most a dealership can take now is a deposit, and MANY here reported they put an order that got sold to someone else as you are not signing a binding contract either for any specific car or price.
