So I found a thread in here that showed me the location of the adjustment for the e-brake cable above the resonator. So I got my car up on a lift to look and it appears I can't get to it unless I removed resonator. Just wondering if anybody has an idea of how to do this without removing the resonator?

No need to remove anything. I believe I used a 10mm wrench and was able to adjust it.

Come in from the back and use every extension you have and a swivel adapter if you have it. The nut should be on the left side facing rearward.
The first time I did it I just used the extensions and twisted by hand.

I took the plunge and tightened mine up today. I'm not quite flat enough to get where I needed to be under the car, but my ramps proved to give plenty of clearance. That was good advice to use all available extensions - it was probably flexy enough to do the job as is, but I added a swivel just to be safe. Mine took a lot more turns than I was expecting, but in the end I have a handle with no play any more. Holds well on my hill without the emergency brake creaking now, which was the goal. :-)

Stupid question, I'm sure, but what's an e-brake?
Ask Anton Yelchin...oh, yeah, you can’t. If he’d used his he’d be alive. As well as a five year old Toronto girl who died after being pinned between two vehicles when another parent “thought” their SUV was in park.

I have too much play in the cable and the handle comes up so easily that even on the highway a little bump with my knee and my cruise control turns off.

Okay guys, I guess I wasn't very bright cuz I looked at it from the side and didn't think about trying to look at it from behind to see if I could get to it. I'll throw it back up on my buddies lift next week and try it again.

Dude, if you have it up on a lift - you'll be done in 5 minutes. Easy peasy.

Cobra Jet,

Thanks for that. I have to adjust the parking brake on my GT since the service department failed to do it.

There's no need for sarcasm; my question was genuine. :)
I know what a handbrake is, and I use it all the time. I just didn't know it was called an e-brake. At first I thought that the 'e-' might be referring to an electric handbrake, but the Mustang doesn't have that (and even if it did, there would be nothing to adjust to it), hence my confusion.

Cobra jet, I don't know where you got this PDF from but it's amazing. Thank you very much for that.
