I parked in my driveway (inclined), and when I pulled the e-brake up I heard a loud pop and now there’s 0 resistance for the brake lever but I still hear clicks. It does not hold the vehicle at all though. My vehicle is a manual 2015 Mustang GT with 87k miles. Could this be because I pull the e-brake too hard? I really yank it up high to make sure it’s tight as can be… at what mileage should an e brake cable fail? What’s the bill I’m looking at when I take it to Ford dealership for repair? For now, until I can get it in, I'll be parking on the street in gear. Thanks!

Check the emergency brake cable and attaching assembly found under the driver side trans tunnel. This thread discusses how to adjust the cable and assembly, but the images will help you to see where/how the assembly works. It’s quite possible the cable just came off the assembly if the adjustment was too loose, allowing the assembly to hang low.

Don't do yourself the disservice of going to a Dealership for this.
If you can't do the work yourself then find a good local mechanic or brake specialty shop.

Is it likely the dealership will charge me twice as much as a local shop for this?

You would really have to call around to find out. I don't know your area or what shops charge for labor there.
As a general rule dealers are more expensive, can have long waits, aren't really recognized as having the best customer service nor the best mechanics.
Personally, I'd never take a vehicle to a dealer unless it was for warranty or recall work, period.
As I said before, find a good local mechanic or brake specialist. You'll likely get better service, faster and for less money. If you don't know one, ask family & friends for a recommendation.

OP, if you look at the adjuster under the car, it will be easy to tell if your cable is broken (with the parking brake disengaged) by looking at the adjusting bracket. It will be cocked on a 45° angle. If it is straight, the cables are equally taut. Check that if you can get under the car 👍🏻
