2018 GT A10 I don't drive the car a lot in the cold weather but I did this morning. Noticed that after 25 min of town and hwy driving the temp was only at 120. When I bought the car it had mods like SC and LT. I'm wondering if this is typical when it's 38 degrees outside or if it may have some cooling mods that I am unaware of?

48 °C is barely out of the "cold" zone.
It sure takes long at 3 °C ambient temperature, especially if you are barely moving. You have to put power through it.

I don't think you have cooling mods unless when you go faster the temperature instead of rising begins to fall.

Good point. I had seen some other posts where certain mods would make them hard to get to temp in cold weather. Maybe i'm just not trying hard enough to get it warmed up lol.

With me it warms up properly (98 °C, when the thermostat opens) only if I begin to blast down the motorway, faster then the posted speed limit (130 Km/h). Otherwise it stays between 75-85 °C.

But I don't drive mine in such lower temperatures, so I expect it to be longer.

Ok good. Sounds like it's probably nothing then. Thanks for the input!

Mine is 100% stock and it's been in the high 20's-low 30's F in the mornings and the trans doesn't get fully up to temp in the 10 miles that I drive to work.

We are getting into cooler weather here. In the summer, takes me like :20 to get the trans up to WOT temp. In the winter I'll drive around for :30 mins & still won't be up to letn er rip mode. A bit annoying.

Same here in SW Ohio. I can drive 10+ miles to work with mixed city and highway and not even register any movement in the temp gauge whatsoever. Even in the summer it takes an incredible amount of time to get the temp gauge moving at all.

The only time I can get it to heat up in a reasonable amount of time is if I'm in bumper to bumper, stop and go traffic and even then it's slow to heat up.

if you don't have a trans temp gauge a general rule is don't flog it till your engine oil gets up to temp. if you're in a GT and its not up to temp because its too cold its too cold to go full power anyways lol

Interesting. So maybe if you plan to drive aggressive maybe footbrake and flash it a little to get some heat in it? Yea I definitely wait til the engine oil temp says normal. Yea it struggles to hook in warm weather with 200TW tires.

I deal w the same issue w A10.. Doesn't heat up fast enough and if you get on it, that only increases airflow to cool it off more. WTF!!!!!!
Powerbrake the trans that will heat up converter. I always did that w my foxbody w a lentech manual valve body & 3000 stall converter and 4.10s and it worked perfect!. I also had an external 30,000 GVWR derale cooler and fluidyne rad cooler, they would keep trans temps cold. In winter trans temps were always an issue.
The S550 shouldn't have this same issue, but does...

you should be very careful in these cars be low 50 degrees anyways, guys.
you gotta get heat in tires, brakes, coolant, trans, all that or risk premature wear or sliding into a tree lol

If I remember correctly, you have to not only wait for your engine oil to come up to temp to stomp on the go pedal, but also your trans

It doesn't. ATF does not flow into the radiator until the temperature reaches around 98°C.

Also, you just need it to be out of the blue zone (that's 50 °C) to begin driving a little more aggressively.
It looks like everybody here is just watching the temp needle and then when it reaches the magic number you go and trash it. Well done, you are going to slide into a pole because everything else (that matters for grip and control) is dead cold.

Cars are mean to be done like women, you have to warm them up good before... well...this:
