I was in northern Ohio the past few days, grew up there. Hadn't been back in a few years and this time, the MUCH slower speed limits in the area really hit me.
It quickly dawned on me that I would definitely not enjoy the car if I lived there, it was quite frustrating, even in a dinky Nissan Rogue rental.
BTW, here's a question...
What do you take when a 4-wheel drive vehicle won't do?
A rental car, of course. :-)
Heck, I had to use CRUISE in the Nissan to keep the airspeed within legal limits. <grin> At least in the area of town where I was, the VAST majority of the speed limits were 25 and 35 including fairly major two lane roads. Down here in south Texas, it's almost always 45 on similar roadways. These cars just don't do well at 25 or even 35.
And forget about blowing a little carbon out on the freeways...speed limit is 50. Ugh.
So, for any of you who live in areas with similar limits, you have my sincere condolences. I'll gladly put up with the tropical summer heat to hang on to our speed limits.
