I'm just surprised that the problem carried over in the 2017 model year when they've known about it for so long. Maybe Ford did the calculus and came to the conclusion that it was cheaper to pay the dealers for warranty work than to put the screws to their supplier of this part. Who knows.
Whatever the decision by Ford was, it was truly F-ed up.

Today my AC wasnt blowing nearly as cold as normal. Only kinda cool instead of ice cold. Is this how it starts?
drivers side warmer than passenger?

since they did mine, my ac is so god damn cold. i always set it at 60 and fan speed 3, i have to put it at 75 now. not complaining id rather freeze than sweat!

Mine is starting to not cool on the driver side

I will be taking it in this week I guess.

Since its not related to engine I plan on leaving intake on. Might be a stupid question but since its a tune required intake I was going to leave the tune on as well. Will I run the risk of them wiping off the tune or do they not even mess with the computer. Again I apologize for my ignorance but am not really sure.

I just passed 36,000 miles the day I noticed. Bought the extended ESP. are they going to cover this under the normal 36k or 60k warranty?

Does it really matter as long as it’s covered? In your case it won’t be under the bumper to bumper since that warranty is gone...

Hoping they will Goodwill it by the dealer. Don't want to pay the deductible for something that happened 20 miles past the bumper to bumper

I noticed mine had the same issue while driving Thursday during lunch--- driver's side warm air, passenger side cool air when I had my A/C set to *maximum cool* in both zones. It's still hot here in Texas yet, so this was very easy to notice.

I took it to the dealer Friday morning and was the first one person in line waiting for them when they got in at 7am. I had mentioned to the dealer's service guy that I had read about the evaporators being a common problem with this symptom, but he seemed to think that it wouldn't cool at all if that was the case. (He turned out to be *wrong* because the evaporator was the cause of the freon leak!) In 30 minutes or so they had it diagnosed, I figured it might be all day or until Monday so I got a loaner.

To my surprise, at 11am they were done, and it was the same culprit as everyone else has had with their 2015's--- that faulty evaporator leaking.

I have the 2015 Mustang GT Premium, so the replacement part was the FR3Z*19850*Y part also. The dealer service guy said they have done a lot of these, and their techs have gotten really good at the replacement.

So far, my A/C now works again as it has before since I first turned it on.

I also attached a picture of MY repair form---I'm glad I paid for the full 7 years of warranty, also!

i think i got the latest and greatest? blows nice and cold again

so they were able to swap it out in 3 hrs? for the amount of work involved if they actually did it that quick thats impressive

They “fixed” it by putting in a recharge with sealant in it

Believe what you want, but my dash was removed and put back because I can TELL it was removed-- they even removed the dust on it in the process!
