Just dynoed my car today to:
- 1108CHP SAE, 917 whp SAE, 844ft tq SAE on a $200k 4wd dyno.
- Adjust tune for added boost to 15lbs
- Verify If my new Smooth Boost Controller worked on a Whipple Mustang GT. I will do seperate post to discuss more indepth. The dyno guy said I should sell those kits for what it done was crazy spot on.
- Test Boost output from my 10%OD IW aluminum Crank Damper with a 3.5" griptec blower pulley.
- FI Interchiller 10mm thermal spacers and underside insulation were great at reducing IAT2 temps due to thermal heat transfer from the heads to my blower.

16.25% power loss through drivetrain? She‘s making some pretty good steam! i’ll bet it’s a blast. Will the tranny need to be upgraded or is it gonna be reliable at this power level?

This was a very accurate $200k 4 wheel dyno. The owner said other dyno shops show way high compared to his 4 wheel dyno.
And not one puff of anything from exhaust. Clear. And the chw was 910.86 not 917.
I just replaced transmission fluid at Ford. I only have 2700 miles but they were hard. I feel good about my A10 converter and clutches but: if I was pounding it at the drag strip with slicks, Upgrades would be a definite sooner then later.

What's the boost curve look like? Interested in how you ramp it in or did you do it by gear?

I did the 6th gear pull to around 7600rpm. In 6th gear produces about 10-15hp less due to not being in 1:1 7th gear ratio. But I went to get tuned and see how the smoothboost controlled boost on the fly. I should have dyno graphs this week from the dyno person.

Do you intend to leave the car pulleyed for that power level? If so, do you have any concerns about reliability?

Since I have the smooth boost controller, I will keep the boost level at about 50% and turn it up when needed. That way I'm not running at maximum boost when conditions do not warrant it.

Is there a knob or switch in the car that you can change it on the fly or how does that work

Knob comes with it but you can wire it to do a bunch of different stuff if you want to (aftermarket ECM boost by gear, boost cut due to lean conditions, etc). I put the Smoothboost in my Camaro into the glovebox.

yes, if you add to kit.
