I have the Brembo 6 piston brakes and when I am driving I can hear the rotors turning. I checked the front brake pads and they are touching the rotors. Are they supposed to touch?

They will touch after driving, as the brake fluid pressure stabilizes/equilizes the pad will free up.

If you put the car in neutral on a slight grade and it rolls freely you are fine. If it drags then maybe they need to be bled.

Thank y’all for responding. I am going to take off wheel and turn it by hand to see what is the cause of my noise.

If the pads were not making very light contact with the rotors, on first
Brake application you would have a very long pedal travel before any braking
Totally normal

On the Brembos, you need to ensure the brake wear indicator/squealer is on the outer side of the caliper. If its on the inside, it can come in contact with the inner caliper housing and cause the inner brake pad to bind unevenly against the rotor.

Not sure if that’s your issue, but something to check.

Check your wheel bearing while you're at it. The brake pads only travel a small distance when applied and when you release the brakes the piston seal is actually what pulls the piston back off the rotor. You may also have a warped rotor.

Have you ever seen the shields on a car equipped with the Brembo?
They are so small that it is almost impossible for them to make contact with the rotor
And, btw, they are not dust shields at all but rather heat shields for the ball joints (on Brembo)

It’s not a squealing noise. It’s like a metal on metal noise. The passenger side rotor turns ok but the driver side takes some effort to spin.

Have you done brake pads recently? Seems odd that one side is the culprit.

Just push back the pads on the driver side and rotate the rotor. Will tell you right away is pads are the issue
If still there, remove caliper and check again
If still present, that point to hub/bearing

is the pad jammed in the caliper-not enough grease?
is the hub surface smooth and clean. if it was covered with rust and you put a new rotor over it without resurfacing, potentially the rotor is not turning perfectly straight

That's not quite true, the piston seal is a seal keeping the bore of the caliper free of contamination, so as not to bind.

The pad retracts as the fluid pressure decreases - neutralizes. Second, a rotor that has run out or as you say is warped. Will cause the pedal to pulsate when the brake is applied.
