Check your wheel bearing while you're at it. The brake pads only travel a small distance when applied and when you release the brakes the piston seal is actually what pulls the piston back off the rotor. You may also have a warped rotor.I have the Brembo 6 piston brakes and when I am driving I can hear the rotors turning. I checked the front brake pads and they are touching the rotors. Are they supposed to touch?![]()
thisIf you're getting squealing, it could just be the brake dust shield hitting the rotor. Just bend back in place if it's the case.
Have you ever seen the shields on a car equipped with the Brembo?this
Just push back the pads on the driver side and rotate the rotor. Will tell you right away is pads are the issueIt’s not a squealing noise. It’s like a metal on metal noise. The passenger side rotor turns ok but the driver side takes some effort to spin.
That's not quite true, the piston seal is a seal keeping the bore of the caliper free of contamination, so as not to bind.Check your wheel bearing while you're at it.
