The Cobra Jet is the same one used for the last gen 5.0. The problem with the cobra jet is it's very expensive it's about $1500 for the kit plus you need to buy motor mounts to lower the engine so it clears the hood .the cj makes a little more power then the boss but gains mid and low end where the boss loses it. The cj should benefit greatly since our heads flow a little bit better than the previous gen

What would lowering the engine do to the alignment of aftermarket headers/exhaust? I imagine the whole exhaust would have to be re-aligned. What about the transmission ans driveshaft? And would it be safe to assume you couldnt run a strut tower brace?

I don't have this info as nobody has really done it other then American muscle with the boss tester they had. I believe the strut bar would not work at this point.

Both manifolds were tested on another site, the cobra jet manifold made a lot of power but at the expense of low and mid range TQ if I remember correctly. I'm hoping the S550 sees some trickle down parts like the 11-14 cars did but who knows.

I did some more seaching and found this, I feel like I have read it before but the heat and lack of a\c in my German home is turning my brain to mush.

http://www.nmradigital.com/2013/12/18/jpc-racing-compares-all-three-ford-intake-manifolds-for-the-coyote-5-0l-engine/

The cobra jet and throttle body was worth about 15 hp over the stock set up. The torque didn't drop, it was the same as the stock system. Big thing is the power curve. wow. 462 hp from about 6400 to 7500 rpms.

That was all on the last gen Mustang gt on e85, I would guess the redisgned heads and such would produce similar numbers on pump 93? those smarter please chime in at any point

1500 for a cobra jet kit w/cai.
550 for an ngauge and a Lund tune.
220 for a res delete.
875 for stainless power headers.
160 for motor mounts.
3305 total cost if you install.
Possible 543 hp at the crank(462rwhp), an increase of 113 over stock. as always feel free to correct my numbers, crank hp factored using 462/.85

I would love this and could piece it together as I can afford it, not like the huge upfront with the supercharger. I am also a big fan of n/a and a car pulling all the way to a 7500 redline. Who knows who can make this happen?

Keeping factory exhaust minus the resonator? Think swapping to a full stainless works headers+cat back would help open it up a little more? Also will a Lund tune take into account this setup, or would a local shop be able to do a little better custom tune?

What about a taller hood instead of motor mounts? Could make a cutout in the stock hood and add a raised section, than add a custom strut tower brace! Want to win the lotto I do.

Add 200 for a couple of magnaflows, a member here did a great write up of it. I am not into paying for a catback as they are little too pricey. I am thinking about doing this while spending the least amount of money and still getting great reliable results. I don't have or at least know of any shops over here that will tune a Mustang.

Lotto or my stocks to jump big, either one is good for me. Haha

I know the Cobra jet is super expensive but why not get the same engine mounts that lower the engine and then get the boss manifold. I saw SVT did a back to back comparison of the boss on the s550 and it only made 4 more whp, however it did make power all the way to 7500rpm. One thing to note is the tune was not altered during this test. I feel some VCT adjustments would allow this engine to make even more power. Then throw some e85 into the mix. The boss might still be a winner at a cheaper price tag.

I think I was wrong, they tested the boss intake, not the cobra jet. Google 2015 mustang svt intake manifold. I could have sworn I seen the cobra jet tested but I might have been mixed up. Even with the boss there is a little power lost on the lower end but the gains are interesting. As on the post, you could also install a different hood that will clear some space for these intakes, that might be easier than motor mounts.

I want to do a high revving NA build so I am considering a cobra jet intake, gt500 TB, and the higher hood to fit it along with other bolt ons. Maybe cams as well.
