Is there anything I can say to make you change your mind?

I really wanted you to build an exotic engine. Sad face.
So nothing you can say unless you put your money where your mouth is . Lol

if someone else want to build one on the cheap (or fund me ) I can contribute a good set of 11:1 Mahle pistons out an old alluminator .

The stroker rods are cheap enough at about $600.
Some one may have good used 5.0 block for $500?
Callie stroker crank is $1000 plus $200 bearings and another $300 to balance ?

Labor to assemble $500 ?

$3000 stroker short block ... anyone want to try it ??
Lol

I'm curious how much boost you could push through a 3.700" bore. Wonder what the thickness is at that bore. Impression I get is that if you want a lot of boost, you stick with the stock bore.
I know the experts say less than the stock bore but I have had a couple of MMR sleeved 5.2 ā€˜s that have made 1100 whp on the dyno.

Just refreshed the one that was in the KB car. I thought it was lifting the heads at 20 psi but it turned out the sleeves had dropped .

The one in the Hellion car (snapped crank )still looked good and was rebuilt my L&M .

plenty of non sleeved Gen 1 voodoo in GT 350ā€™s also making big power although the guys at Fatfab used a sleeved block in their 1200R packages

The non sleeved predator now in the Hellion car still has less than a 1000 miles but made 1100 on the dyno but only one (so far ) pass @155 mph with 16 lbs of boost .

Nice OP.

I have a brand new FRPP gen 3 5.0 coyote bare block delivering next week.

Iā€™m gonna pack it with Manley HD pistons and H Tuff rods.

Iā€™ll be into it right around $3000 all in.

Nice .

Does that include a new crank and bearings ?

Are you going to assemble your self ?

I wonder if the Gen 3 coyote also shares the additional ā€œcast in brace ā€œ found on the Gen 2/3 voodoo/predator ?

the intake surface is similar ,as all of them have the six bosses for knock sensors so I wonder if they all use the same casting ?

Gen 3 blocks are also cheaper and can be had for less than $1000 shipped .
Retail is $835 but $990 when you add shipping and tax .
Cheapest is if you can get your local dealer to price match .

Cheapest is Summit on the FRPP Gen 3 block FMS-M6010-M504VC. $775 shipped to my door... will be here Wednesday with any luck. I got lucky and got it $75 off using one of Summits promo codes 2 weeks ago. Their standard price is $852 shipped to your door.

It is bare, no crank... not sure on bearings but i would guess it does not include them. Although main caps/bolts are included so who knows... guess ill find out next week.

I will be assembling mine myself yes.

Thatā€™s a great deal.
Please can you take a pic in the intake surface when it get it ?
I want it see if it has the same bracing as the new voodoo/predator block .

So is the $3K ā€œall in ā€œ just the pistons, rods and block or does that include the crank?

Right now I am also at $3200 for the voodoo block /pistons/rods(Manley H beams with ARP 2000 bolts )
Another $700 for crank, bearings and oil squirters plus $700 assembly .

Well I got good news. Machinist called me this morning. Block _will_ clean up at .005". So gonna send it. Will have stock crank, Molnar Power Adder Rods and Diamond Mod2k pistons. I can tell you, it's definitely cheaper to use a Gen 3 block than what I have in machine work. Live in and learn. Definitely interested in what others come up with.

I sure will, but im guessing this block will not have the brace. My list does not include crank so add $325 for that.

My parts list:

Block--$775
Rods--$800
Pistons--$760
Forged crank/cam gear/sprocket--$270 (on sale at MMR right now! Reg price $399)
Crank--$325 or re- use existing crank.
ARP head studs--$350
Rod/Crank bearings--King or Clevite--$150-200

Im at $3100 if i reuse my crank.

EDIT: It's worth noting one could save about $300 if they chose to use a standard H Beam rod vs. the H-Tuff im going to use.

A standard H beam is good to 1000hp all day so worth thinking abou.....

Great news for you. How do they "clean up" a spray bore block? Im curious on that one.
