Hey can I have my tuner change my ratio to 3:7 without actually going into the rear and installing AM gears… I’m pretty sure you don’t have to buy them and the tuner can just change the ratio as long as the sytem
Can take it correct? Or not correct

I think you may have explained something awkwardly. It seems you are asking if you can change the rear gears by programing it in the PCM? Like, without changing the gears, only programming?

Exactly just hook up to the pcu and change the ratio… Or do i have to physically go into the diff and install the new gear?.. I have base model gt not a pp… And I asked my tuner to give me 4:10 he said no I need to buy those gears and install them… So I asked for 3:9 he said samething about them…then I asked for 3:7 and he emailed me the tune.. So yes im asking is possible and safe for my base model gt to run 3.7 with physically changing anything in the diff… just changing stuff on the pcu

You need to actually change the gears in the diff.

Sounds like he just wants you to stop asking him dumb questions that he already answered once.

You have to buy your rear end gears and have them installed, no way around it bub.

Wow. Ok you're obviously green to modifying cars . No problem we all start sometime. It's like a 10 speed bicycle you physically change ratios by changing sprockets. So the same applies to your rear differential. You need to change the gears ( spockets) to change ratios. Then you have your tuner go in and change the tune to let the computer know it has these new gears to it can be tuned accordingly.

Yeah which is very unprofessional… If someone lacks knowledge then the correct thing to say is… Whatever gear is in there right now is the only gear you can run… or you can only run your stock ratio till you change it out…or even no that tab
Is there because I need to know what gear your running so I can adjust the speedo..Not everyone is a mechanic or car tech… So I had to come here because my half ass tuner doesn’t know how to
communicate efficiently… Ill spending my money with a new tuner that can.. But thanks ✌🏾

I’ll keep in discreet because I love the tune I just hated how he communicated that with me like I had to come here just to figure out that my car still running like 3:1 and not 3:7

A good tuner would educate their customers on products and techniques. It's to their own benefit. Make a customer happy and They will sell more. Make more money. Get more customers. It's a terrible viscous circle that I make a good living at . 😀

Something I was thinking lol some people don’t think like that plus he wasn’t the owner he was just a tuner lol
