Looking at the 2024's. 486 HP is tempting but the price isn't. What year specific year model would you look at instead of the 2024 for good performance ? Thanks.

There’s low mile Mach 1’s out there that can be had in the $45-$50k range (non-HP). Or as others have said, any 18-23 GT will give you a good bang for your buck too.

I picked up my 22 with 6k on it for about 30K less than a 24/25 with same options. But you can find low mile 24s everywhere if that's what you want. I just hated the interior on the s650 and the added nannies. The only real benefit on the s650 is the auto trans mapping. It doesn't matter 486 or 450hp. The times are negligible between them.

I favor anything in the 21-23 Model year.

- It's near the end of the generational run, so parts re-designs, assembly adjustments and recall issues have, for the most part, been worked out

- These cars are still relatively new, like new. Many can be found with low miles, in excellent condition, original configuration and zero accidents

- For those still at the dealer lot, deep discounts or $$$ incentives can be had

- Performance-wise, the Mach 1-to-DH and GT-to-GT are identical or 99% so. Any advantages would be down to tires and driver ability

To the 2024s:

- Pricing is a definite negative

- Ordering, parts delays and constraints have been near constant issues

- There are several first-year recall and design issues. I feel the '24 is probably in the same boat as the 2015s when they first arrived

The problems with 21-23 are they were built during covid and the supply chain shortages. People that WERE working didn't want to be there and things were built with that attitude. Look at the quality control ratings on those model years across all platforms.

find a lightly used 21-23 Mustang Mach 1. Seriously peak mustang. I am biased of course but I truly think it brought it all together. I had a 16 GT as a comparison. Better exterior than S650, solid interior with more than enough tech if you get the premium, but you get an integrated screen with the classic dual brow. No ridiculous iPad screens. No locked ECU. Choice of auto or manual transmission...you get the TREMEC if you go manual. Better reliability and you get the interior upgrades over the GT350. More reasonable daily use than GT500. Track coolers and noticeable handling improvements over GT. People are starting to offload them at fair prices that will save you a ton over a S650, especially a Dark Horse which is what you would have to buy to match the handling and cooling. 480 vs. 486 for HP (pull the filter to get this on 22/23) and the torque on Mach 1 is slightly higher (about same as HP deficiency). 22/23 still might have warranty but an extended warranty is easy to pick up on these from Ford.

The Ipad dash rules out the 24 for me. Only way I buy one is if I could afford the GTD, even then I'd replace the dash at some point.

2024 GT 💯 these cars are unbeatable performance bargains.
Glad you like it, I'm not a player till the dash gets real buttons and no tacked on screens.

The 24s are god awful looking. Car may be great, but horrendous to look at from the front or back. Had one behind me. I swore it was a Camaro. He pulled up beside me and I realized it was a Mustang. Up the road a bit he was in the lane beside still but just ahead. My wife asked why anyone would do that to their car - meaning the back end with the Hyundai notch. I said ford did it. She laughed and just shook her head and said “why”?

So yea, car has great running gear. But OMG, it’s the Mustang II of this generation. It’s a shame really. It could have been so much more. This is NOT the evolution of the mustang but the fail of Mustang.

Find a Mach1. Best looking model by far.

I don't like the looks but could get over it if the part I look at all the time was better, dash. No Ipads.
