Never go into the dealership with the tune installed. I went in for some brake work and there was some kind of factory reflash pending so they did it without my permission and I lost my tune. I had to pay again to have it retuned.

I was always under the belief that the dealer can see and chexk in pcm memory and it only comes up as like a battery disconnect.. the less times you go back and forth w tunes the better off u are. Less disconnects in pcm. Just don't bring car into dealer w tune on. Lol. And if you are gonna go in for service flash it back to stock and drive at least 30 miles. This has always worked for me and never had an issue. But times nay have changed and these cars get smarter and smarter and rat you out w there memory lol.
Thanks Anthony
Its not that simple, they can always find out if its been flashed, there is no current way to obfuscate the number of times the PCM has been flashed. Ford has specific procedures for their dealer techs to find out if its been altered.

Small stuff you're not gonna have issues with, but if the motor is blown they're going to check because they really don't like paying for that.

But something people seem to ignore is also that ford flashes your car without asking, going in with a tune loaded is a risky situation as they frequently overwrite them.

IMO unless you're going with E85 it's kinda pointless to tune a Mach for 93. The tune is already a bit juiced up over the GT, so there's not going to be much to gain on 93 and you end up possibly screwing over your powertrain warranty.
I would agree with you on that if you have a stick. But with the Auto it’s night and day.
My rule of thumb is to drive the car 10-15k and if all is good tune it.

One of the biggest differences between the GT and Mach tunes is the auto tranmission parameters. The Mach calibration is significantly improved, and is the basis for the FRPP tune for the GTs. I would agree with your statement for the GT, but again with the Mach tune so well done it's not going to be night and day difference as it would be for the GT.

I drove a 10R Mach and it was buttery smooth compared to my GT, which drove me (no pun intended) to get the FRPP tune for mine which helped tremendously and got it closer to what the stock Mach was like.

I can tell from experience it’s a huge difference even in the Mach.
I went back for a short time when switching from Livernois to Wengerd tunes and I was blown away with how bad the stock tune is.
Trust me

Does the stock mach 1 tune skip shift in Normal drive mode, shifter in "D"?

I recently loaded up a tune with the stock GT shift schedule for Normal in D and it's horrible lol.

Yes it does, and rushes to get to 10th.
Also the overly aggressive downshifting in Sport.
Only things different on Mach a10 are the torque converter and cooler.
Maybe they changed tuning for track but not for everyday

Yea that's reason enough to consider even a 93 tune for the mach 1 then, unless you're going to always drive with shifter in S I guess. That would depend on the characteristics of Normal/S though. But the way Wengerd has Normal/D is perfect for everyday driving.

Personally; I only use D for the first couple minutes then right to S.
Even though D is better with tune, it still is not responsive enough for my style of driving.
S and S+ work great for daily now.

Wengerd is the man, he essentially gave me S+ for shifter S because I don't have the drive modes. So I know exactly what you mean. The pedal mapping in Sport/Track is way more responsive.

If you dont have cats, that car has to stink? Its impossible to not have them and no smell. I can tell a catless car driving by...
Free Flowing Exhaust, Corsa Double H pipe, factory Active Exhaust. No smell.

I might just be used to it, but I too have a freedom exhaust lol and it doesn't have an obnoxious smell.
