I would not recommend leasing. If you have someone you know that can talk to you about it that has a little more info talk to them. All I can say in short with the little info I do know about on it is this, you will essentially end up spending more money on the vehicle if you lease then buy it because of the residual value it will be determined at after the lease is over. I wanna say when I looked into this with the guy who ordered my car I think it was somewhere around 5-6k more in extra funds I would have just been throwing down the drain. I could be wrong or a little high on this but I'm pretty sure someone else can chime in and will say something similar.
@JPJr
leasing makes sense in 2 main scenarios:

1) you're able to invest the unused portion that otherwise would have been paid to buy it outright (i.e. able to get a 10% return on cash, finance rate only 2%...net 8% in the positive)...though in this day and age, unlikely

2) you're leasing as a business and able to write off the full lease expense annually (vs standard deprecation rates)

being that #1 isn't really viable in this economy and if #2 doesn't apply, better bet is to go ahead and buy it from the start

Not true, the residual is set at time of lease, (Close end lease it s called). I have leased lots of cars. Generally doesn't work on a toy you don t use a lot but Plenty of reasons that leases do work.

Like I said, couldn't remember exact specifics of it, just on paper it seemed I'd have paid more in the end leasing first then buying after. I just don't recall exactly why that was just what I vaguely remembered when I was talking about maybe doing that to have a lower up front payment and down the road payment.

Either way I purchased mine

I hardly ever lease a vehicle, so I'm looking for some advice.

Only a few months ago both my wife and I got 72 month loans for 2.5% from our CU.
Now that rate is 5.19%
5.19!!!

By the time my car comes in, who knows what it will be.

So I'm considering leasing instead.

Wise, or stupid?

Thanks!
You will probably want to vomit upon hearing the lease payment. There's is no lease program on the mach 1 or even a gt for that matter, although you can technically lease them at a stupid high rate.

For financing unfortunately rates went up a lot in the past few months. My 2021 mach 1 rate for 72 months was 2.52%. For my 2022 that I just picked up yesterday I'm at 4.04 for 72.

There are many variables that go into auto loan rates. Credit score, length of credit, debt to income ratio, equity position, etc.

All that being said the difference in payment between a point or two (unless you're doing zero down or worse yet adding negative equity.) probably won't be a dealbreaker for you.
check for the shipping blocks in the front suspension. rear end looks fine but the front definitely does not
Yeah the bump stops that prevents the suspension from bouncing around on the truck haven't been removed

Ordered January 29th, delivered July 12th.
Went pretty base assuming it get would built faster. 600a, 10 speed, red calipers.

let go of my 2021 velocity blue 700a for this one. Even though there is more missing than I thought between 700a and 600a(I do however prefer the cloth seats to leather), I just loved the color too much to pass it up. Ford performance black wheels going on tomorrow, tints Friday, gurney flap spoiler ordered. I'll do the hp wheels and wheel molding things in a couple months.

I hope everyone that's been waiting for their orders get them soon. It's a special car, just don't be afraid to let it rip once broken in!

Thanks to all who've commented on the leases.
I'll probably end up leasing the Wrangler I've got coming and buy the Mach 1.
The crazy situation we're in right now cuts both ways.
I've made up for a lot of bad car buying/selling decisions over the years by sampling and selling a few cars these past few years.
Was able to do all that while the interest rates were still low.

Now I'm going to have to suck it up and take the best rate I can find.
I've got no car payment right now, so my credit score should be looking pretty good to lenders.
I always say the next car is 'the one', but something else always comes along.
I'm well versed on getting the payoff and simply moving on to the next one.
Leasing would crimp my style!

On the Jeep, that'll mainly be my daily.
Working remote now means it's just really for errands and care free driving. (i.e. not worried about what the parking situation is where I'm going, if it's going to storm, bad roads, etc.)

Thanks again for the advice/comments.

Dont forget, after its broke in; pulling out on the road, dumping the clutch and power shifting a few gears. That's what I have in mind after break in. :sunglasses::rockon:

Thanks! Of course I'm outside admiring the car just now and my neighbor drives down the street with his heavily modded mclaren 720s screaming, raining on my parade. 😫
Oh wow. Does he have two McLarens so he can still drive one while the other one is in the shop?

It was my understanding they leave Kansas City rail yard via car carrier to Granger. 🤷🏻‍♂️
I am not sure, that could be correct. The only thing they told me was it left Kansas City on the way to Granger. Either way, I am happy this journey will soon come to a close after 13 long months.

No lol he's got an x5 m competition. And I don't live in a fancy neighborhood either, both his cars probably worth as much as the houses.
