I received my build date a few weeks ag

i got a ups date in March for May 3. I confirmed with Ford Performance earlier this week. Premium, FJF, HP, 6MT. Ordered November 1, 2021. Not sure what the hold up is for all of your orders. I would check with your dealer.
I'm pretty sure it must be that my dealer didn't have the ability to get the car they tried to sell me. They haven't been very helpful at all. It's a small rural dealer.

The first dealer I went to in the larger town make a big huge speech about how they don't mark up cars then brought me a build sheet with a markup. Wasted 45 minutes of my time. But I guess at least they could have sold me the car.

These dealers and the stupid games they're allowed to play.

That's what I figured. I think I'm finished. I'm going to call the dealer and cancel Monday. No chance of getting it in 2022, might as well look at the new ones or something else.

Really disappointing and unfair. Crazy too be treated this poorly.
people who had ordered by this time last year got their cars. stick with it.

Are all of us who are still waiting premium orders? Is it the damn leather? I'd happily switch to cloth or recaros.
Seems like it plus HP. I haven't seen any silver scheduled unless I missed it. Debating on changing my color... again

Oh I know, I'm sure they'd deliver my car in October or November, when I can't even drive it. I don't know if I could stomach paying them. I'll probably look to buy something else over the summer, and if I can't find what I want (or the prices are crazy) I'll be able to see all the new stuff coming out.

It's beyond disappointing and frustrating that they can behave this way without worrying about it at all.

First post here! I made an account just for this thread, but I'm looking forward to finally being part of the Mustang community after owning a Miata for the last 11 years. I've read all 129 pages!

Order date: 2/18/22
Confirmation date: 2/18/22
Priority code: 10 (formerly was a 19)
Scheduled Build Date: n/a
Options: Mach 1, Eruption Green, Handling Package, red painted calipers, Recaro cloth seats

Hoping I can join you guys in the build date celebration soon.

Also for you guys that are saying Mach 1s are a specialty vehicle as far as pricing goes: I'm a technician at a Ford dealer and my order went through on D-plan pricing so far without a hitch. Will update if anything changes, but so far so good. I'm very excited not to pay anywhere near MSRP or ADM and I hope it stays that way.
So there's a chance my dealer lets me go thru with x-plan? They told me they'd only need the PIN at time of delivery since they expire and stuff

X plan is slightly more expensive than invoice. So your dealer can beat 2% below invoice and the 1000 order credit?
Isnt the 1000 order credit just your deposit? The non-refundable one? I dont mind paying 0.4% under invoice instead of 2% when i can get $500 refundable that counts towards down payment as well. Plus my dealer is local to me vs Granger being 350 miles away, although that would help with the break-in, im not 100% sure about the purchase and i wouldn't want to get hit with a $1000 loss.

Totally confused of your logic. The Granger no refundable deposit applies to whatever is the price of the car. It is only non refundable if you back out and don’t want the car. A refundable deposit means they give you back the morney even if you don’t want the car.

Don’t know what you mean “by getting the refund to apply to the downpayment.” If you are buying the car and are not backing out, it will be applied to the payment anyway, right ?

Yeah your deposit counts towards the down payment obviously
but you dont understand my logic? I have to order the car very soon if i want a chance at even receiving it, and im not 100% sure if i will be going through with the purchase. So i dont want to risk $1000 when i could just get a refundable deposit from my local dealer with a similar price.

If you are not getting the car because Ford is not producing,
Granger would be refunding it. It is only no refundable if you back out, not if Ford does not produce the car

Yeah i keep saying over and over I am not 100% sure if i will go through with the purchase, so the comfort of knowing I can back out if i need to is something crucial to me. I'll see if my dealer will price match, but i dont mind paying about 1.6% more for the comfort

Ah! You are not sure if you want a Mach 1. Of course, if that is the case, a refundable deposit is better

Is there anyone on this thread that ordered their Mach 1 through Chapman Ford and actually received a build date? I ordered my HP Mach 1 from Chapman in August of 21’.. To no surprise it was cancelled in October and then reordered for 22’… As of today I have no build date and I’m starting to lose my patients. For reference, I was at my local dealer this afternoon (Akins Ford in Winder, Ga) and they let me know they put in two orders for HP cars in March and theirs are already scheduled for June…
Starting to think that Chapman took on a lot more orders than they have allocations for… Needless to say that my optimism for my Chapman order to be built is pretty much non existent at this point.
I ordered from Chapman, February 7th. Got a build date yesterday of June 13th.
Received another email tonight that my build date was moved up to June 6th. I ordered a 600A, 6spd, non-HP.

Yeah and with the order books (presumably?) coming to a close soon, I can't really put off ordering more than i already have since January. Even now, I am not sure if i'll be taking delivery of the car before they start another cancel wave. My dealer unfortunately doesnt have the HP, but I feel like that's probably a good thing as i wasn't really the target market for that package! :)

What do you mean your dealer doesn't have the HP. If you place a retail order, you can pick whatever options you want. You ought to be able to get MSRP, might have to shop around a bit, on whatever Mach 1 you want. But, things might get a little scary if it gets scheduled towards the end of the run.

I was told they cant place orders with the handling package at least with my local dealership. I could explore around, but it'll be more of a street car than a track toy and as much as i love the wheels and aero and suspension stuff, i dont know if its worth the extra cost. especially not with the recent $2000 MSRP price hike on the Mach 1s
