Dude, you called me petty and uniformed, then tell me to think about the children in Ukraine? Get real, I cancelled an order for a car.
No ship in the Panama canal explains why April orders are made before January orders, no matter how hard you simp for Ford. Their system is garbage, and...
That's a rather egotistical reply, on brand from "Charlemagne". If you want to be an apologist for Ford, do it without calling me dumb and petty.
Plenty of people here who ordered in March and April and got scheduled, and plenty others who ordered much earlier who aren't. That's not an issue...
Don Aadsen Ford in Ronan, Montana. They're really good people and they treated me well, small family dealer, but one that does plenty of business. People up here buy Ford trucks. Not sure why Ford would do that to them.
It got to be too insulting, I don't need to be shit on by Ford.
Anyways...
Well, I finally just cancelled my order. Ordered January 4, nothing from Ford except the email telling me I was delayed without apologizing.
Called the dealer, they were cool about it. Said they had allocation but that for whatever reason they hadn't had a single Mustang order scheduled, not...
Oh I know, I'm sure they'd deliver my car in October or November, when I can't even drive it. I don't know if I could stomach paying them. I'll probably look to buy something else over the summer, and if I can't find what I want (or the prices are crazy) I'll be able to see all the new stuff...
I'm pretty sure it must be that my dealer didn't have the ability to get the car they tried to sell me. They haven't been very helpful at all. It's a small rural dealer.
The first dealer I went to in the larger town make a big huge speech about how they don't mark up cars then brought me a...
That's what I figured. I think I'm finished. I'm going to call the dealer and cancel Monday. No chance of getting it in 2022, might as well look at the new ones or something else.
Really disappointing and unfair. Crazy too be treated this poorly.
Ford gets real excited when it talks about going to a pre order model. That's fine until customers have to guess about allocations while avoiding markups.
Some people here say allocation doesn't matter for retail orders, other people say it does matter. Who knows, there's so many people saying...
If everyone were delayed I would understand. But people in here ordered in March and got scheduled. I don't get that at all.
I'm pretty close to cancelling. At this point I won't even be able to drive the damn thing when it arrives.
This is killing me. I didn't get an email so I asked the chat. I'm still unscheduled. And the guy on chat told me "it can take a while they'll email you." Yeah I got that
Agreed, pretty tired of hearing people cry supply chain. All of a sudden everyone is an expert in logistics and inflation. Bunch of students of Robert McNamara and Milton Friedman apparently chatting on the Ford forums.
Of course that, but dealers might be tempted to ignore a written agreement anyways. If they can get 18k over, they might just sell at the higher price and deal with a lawsuit from the first customer, still come out ahead.
