Ford really should stop all new orders until they can fulfill existing ones, or at least catch-up. It really infuriates me to have to wait until March for only tires, and still not get a build date.

Also seeing dealer ordered EB and GT with premium options get ahead of my 2021 order, proves there really is no rhyme or reason to the ordering system and priority codes.

FYI, I have now been moved to a priority 1. Crickets from Ford:explode:

Well on the bright side – priority 1 means you should be pretty likely to get a build date next time they schedule! Or I hope so, anyway.

How did you find out your priority update? Ford performance chat or via your dealer?

I called and raised total hell with my salesman, to get the regional manager involved. 2 days later a text stating it was done, with an almost certainty that the first M1 arriving at the lot will be mine.

That doesn't make me feel any better, other than venting. Because as we know big blue will do exactly what they want with no explanation. Sorry still venting...

see my response right before yours. Chapman in PA basically said yes to paying the price when the car is produced not ordered
With a signed DORA and deposit with Granger I am locked in on pricing. Pretty sure that is standard.

Eh this thread is kind of just people venting at this point, myself included, so I feel you lol. I'd have done the same thing if i were in your shoes. Plus you've been waiting longer than most people in this thread at this point so i'd say your anger is pretty justified!

I can't speak for others, but if Ford can't produce my car soon and is going to keep increasing prices without giving any incentive for waiting, I'm going to jump ship to another manufacturer — even if that means missing out on a V8.

It's not entirely true, Ford honoured original pricing last year after the mid-year change, the dealer will get a refund or something like that later, after they get the invoice from Ford.

W12 in Bentley Continental GT Speed comes to mind 😁 Though it's 1200 lbs heavier, +5 sec in Lightning Lap while +170 hp and +-300k.

My options are looking at non-HP cars already on the lot and making my own changes. Im going to hold out a little longer before I walk away from my order.

The s650 will still be available with the Coyote without hybrid so it's not like V8 is completely going away. But they haven't said what the higher trim will look like, the higher trims may be hybrid only or something. I was tempted to wait for it anyways, but I really don't see how I could like it better than the s550 mustang, which is the exact car I want.

I also wanted my car now, and the s650 won't even start production until March 2023 at the earliest.

At this point I'm almost ready to just pay the stupid price for a used GT350. I just worry about buying something that was really driven hard or had issues.

I still don’t have a build week. I ordered 10/17 and when I changed my color on 1/14, I was a priority 10. My dealer said I’m “unscheduled clean” with the “NSP” designation which he said means they’re getting ready to schedule me. Fingers crossed. I hope he’s right.

We ordered my wife’s Bronco on 1/10 and (right now) it has a build date already scheduled for the end of the month. Its unbelievable to think that might arrive first.

Yeah, I had also thought about waiting for the S650 too. But I want to take advantage of used car prices while they're up and get something nicer/more fun. Right now, I can get what i paid for my V6 5 1/2 years ago – or possibly more, so there's no reason not to. I can always trade in the Mach 1 and take a much smaller hit from depreciation, should prices come back down for used cars again.

But as far as s550 vs S650 goes... I'd heard they were possibly doing what they did with the Mach E on the interior (big ass tablet to control everything), which I'm not a fan of.

If I can't get an S550 V8 by mid-summer, then I'll just buy a used Supra 3.0 for now and wait to see what the next-gen GTs look like.

man i want the best coyote s550 made and that will be the M1. but can I wait.

if i opt out of the Granger deal then its MSRP for a non HP M1, IF i can find what i want.

at that point maybe ill just drop 70k on a 2020 350….so many problems. :)

I hadn't heard about the tablet interior, but agree no thanks.

I'd buy a Supra now that it's got a manual, it's on my replacement list. I'd get a M2C as well. Hell I could save myself nearly half the price and enjoy a GR Corolla or Veloster N, although obviously that's a much different choice. Lots of really great cars out there, too many to list, so I'm struggling to justify waiting this long on the last model year of this mustang. As soon as that s650 hits, like it or not, the s550 will start to look old.

Unfortunately it's still the best looking option out there and tons of fun. That M2C is great but doesn't have the same spirit.

I'm looking for an automatic car that's fun to hoon around, good at cruising, and has some street presence, of course. If money wasn't an object, I'd get an F-Type, honestly. But I want to keep the budget under $60k, so that one is out.

I test drove a few other cars like the Challenger Scat Pack and the new BRZ. The new BRZ was a lot more fun than the Challenger and appealed to my frugal side the most, but I still walked away having enjoyed the Mustang GT the most. I haven't driven a Supra yet but I want to – I'm sure the automatic 2020-2021s will be easier to snap up once they release a manual model here soon.

I thought about going for an M2 or M340i, but the newer BMWs just don't do it for me in the looks department and I keep hearing people say they're too refined. I like that the Mustang can be visceral when you want, but also buttoned up when you need it to be at the same time.

The Mach 1 will age much better than the other S550s besides the GT350 if you ask me. Curious to see what they do with the S650 but I hope they don't lose what makes it so enjoyable to drive in the process of going after fuel efficiency and the Europeans.
