I don't see a problem with winter tyres, there's Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 in both 255/40 and 275/40 R19. I'll get another set of wheels for these winter tyres.

There's also Nokian WR Snowproof P, Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ or Pirelli SottoZero III in both sizes so plenty to choose from.

305/30 or 315/30 R19 don't exist for winter tyres here and I wouldn't want to run those widths on those great looking HP wheels in winter anyway, best to get a separate set of wheels with regular tyre sizes for winter.

I would never recommend all-season tyres to anyone, they're mediocre for summer and not great for winter either (but that depends on the kind of winter you have, no snow or ice like in Florida could be fine for all-season).

This is high performance car and it deserves high performance tyres, best for the best

Like you said there are some good choices with winter tires in both sizes 255/40/19 and 275/40/19.
I live in region of Germany where winter is usually mild so good all-season tires work for me however, best choice might prove to be the winter tires as you suggest. :fistbump:

31 and 33lbs? Gross.

Any decent aftermarket wheel is in the low 20s for similar sizes. Although it's about the norm with Ford wheels.

Today’s A/S tires are far superior to ones from 5-10 years ago. Good enough, in fact, for Chevrolet to make them the standard tire on the C8. I had AS3+ on my 15’ and they were just fine. Now, you are correct if you live in the snow belt and need dedicated winter tires. Then separate wheels & tires would be best.

That's good to hear. All-season are probably fine for mild winter (I wouldn't ride in crazy weather anyway), but for summer temps and occasional track, I think proper summer tyres like those Pilot Sport 4S are best.

I can see that one could opt for all-season and then have separate wheels with Pilot Cup 2 for frequent track use only, that'd work probably mostly too. Though if I had gorgeous HP wheels, I wouldn't want to use them only for a few days a year, but at the same time I'd be afraid to use Cup 2s on wet roads.

There's Bridgestone Weather Control A005 Evo in 255/40 and 275/40 R19, they don't seem to be bad.

Look at the tyre to guard gap on the non HP car below with with standard 27 inch front and 27.7 inch rear tyre diameters.

Now look at the the tyre to guard gap on the HP model below, with 26.2 front and 26.4 rear tyre diameter. The wheel to guard gap has closed yet the wheel diameter has shrunk by nearly an inch on the front wheel and over an inch on the back wheel.

The gap to guard should have increased on the HP version and that is clearly not the case and its not just this photo its a similar story with other pics of the HP model.

I hope I'm wrong and there is only once set of springs for both models, but I'm certainly not convinced.

Silly question: the non HP picture above where there is a large gap between the tire and the fender... I have seen that there are orange shipping blocks that if not removed will cause that increased space. Just saying...

I kinda thought something along those lines. Thanks
Silly question, if you buy another set of wheels and tires for the cold weather, how do you get the four tires to the shop to swap them? Will four tires fit in the trunk?

True - but better than PP2 wheels that are 35-36 lbs. - hence then reason I went with NES FG-08s on my PP2. The Mach 1 deserves good rims - this should be the first "mod" on a M1.

Do you think the production rims will weigh the same?

The base wheels look similar at first glance to the Bullitt wheels but they are different design and spec.

Glad to see that Ford is going 305/30 up front and 315/30 in back. Hopefully this will prompt some more tire mfrs to produce the 315/30s

No. Two, maybe.

If you store the off-season set in tire bags there's no reason you couldn't throw a couple of them in the back seat. Even if all you have is an old blanket, you'll be fine using the back seat.

Many people just do this job themselves. But if you have to have a shop do this, you could make two trips.

Never heard of tire bags. Do you know who sells them?

Anyone is/was running the 305/315-30 R19 tyre setup on his S550 Mustang? How does it feel compared to 255/275-40 R19 on the street and on the track (other than cool factor)? :)

I prefer the "magentic-painted" upgrade.

And it'll look like this on mine.

This is never advisable. Different tire compounds can really throw off the handling of a car. Recommendation would be to buy a separate set of wheels/tires for low temperature driving.
Was looking more into the upgraded magnetic painted base model wheels and it appears that may actually be closer to the Ecoboost Handling Package wheels, which are this style and 9.5 F/ R, than the PP2 wheels, which are 10.5 front / 11.0 rear.

Bought a set of PP1 wheels to put on my trade-in so I can keep the PP2 wheels and tires for Mach to run in colder weather and to park it in the garage during the winter. The PP2 and Mach HP wheels are both 10.5 F / 11.0 R, and both +24 front offset. Rear offset slightly different at +48 PP2 and +52 HP. Will pull a HP wheel and post pics of it side by side with a PP2 wheel inside and out when the car comes in.

Will the wider 10.5/11" wheels (bird's nest / PP2 wheels) fit the base Mach 1 without any problems? Like PP2 had some changes in the fender liner (topic), I guess the base model has preparation for it already and there'd be no clearing issues?

Adding the front lip molding and rear splash guards and that'd be all that's needed for wider wheels.
