It could have something to do with pre-loading the tires for better handling.
Yeah, I run 275/40R19 MPS4S square on 10" SVE rims myself.

Sly. I have a Mach1 on order but HP is not available yet. Can you divulge who the manufacturer is of those wheels. I think they look great. Will they be available aftermarket. I am sure they will be priced outragedly from Ford.

LMR/SVE will have a clone soon enough I expect. Or MRR or oewheelsllc will.

As of right now those rims are unavailable. They where up on the Ford build site when I built and purchased my 2021 Mach 1. The posted pic is on the Ford build site now, and what came on my Mach 1.

I ordered the front splitter and rear wing and gurney flap at Ford when picking my car up. First PN ending in AB is gurney flap. Second ending in AA is the spoiler. I’ll post the splitter PN shortly.

I like to disassemble things.
Thought you guys would like these. 2021 mustang Mach 1 wheels w/(handling package) These are function Prototypes. These are made in the US!
I got my hands on some functional prototype hardware for the GT500 but can't say anything else. I'm impressed that you were able to acquire those wheels and post about it.

I sense that the actual production wheels won't be made in the US though. Do you have any information to the contrary?

I did notice this as well and seems odd.
When you start with given tire size(s) and hold them constant, you gain a little lateral stiffness by mounting them on wider wheels. And lateral stiffness loosely translates to improved turn-in response and handling precision. It's not exactly a 'preload' thing; it's more about reducing the amounts of flexibility that exist between the wheel and the tire tread at the contact patch.

Most OE fitments tend to stick with wheels that are "measuring width" for the tires, most likely for "best overall balance" between corporate ride and handling requirements. Going wider than "measuring width" typically trades away a little ride comfort in exchange for the handling gains. The further you go from 'measuring', the bigger the trade-offs.

I wonder why they didn't go with wider tires for the wider rims.
If they did that, they'd only gain a minimal amount of limit tire grip (probably less than 0.01g), and not get the improved turn-in response and steering precision that comes from "stretching" the beads out a little further apart.

It's not like the base Mach 1 went to any extremes here, only half an inch wider than 'measuring width'. But it does show some intent toward emphasizing the handling.

nice wheels but i like the 5 spoke "old school" ones. maybe cause i am old but looks more classic to me. also a LOT easier to clean.

My tip is there are two sets of springs for the Mach 1.

The photos so far of the non handling pack Mach 1's have a gap to tyre guard of at least 1 to 1.5 inch. This is with 40 series tyres with a total diameter of 27 inches.

The multi spoke Handling Pack rims with 30 series tyres (with 26.2 front and 26.4 rear diameters) will have a huge tyre to guard gap if the spring height is left unchanged.

I'm sure the Handling Pack version of the Mach 1 will have lower springs with different part numbers to the the non handling pack Mach 1's.
