Yeah, something is definitely different. Had an engine replacement done under warranty for my MY17 to a '19 engine. it felt fairly different during the break in period and continues to feel different after the break in period.
Are you able to say how (shakes more, shakes less, etc?)? Or is it just more of a "feel" thing.....can't quite say,but it just is

when did 19 engines start going into builds? meaning do all 19 models and above have it. no matter if built in 18.

so many numbers. later.

none were built in '18

pretty certain all '19's have the new block/upgrades

My understanding they start with MY19 which is January 2019?

I heard ALL the 2019 has the "Gen 2". And even some late 2018, they had used up what they had in 2018 then switched over, all have the 350R motors. You can lift the coil cover, the decal on the drivers side near the oil fill will tell you

Edit to add: Thanks for sharing that article. Great read... What a score for 19MY owners. At the minimum the 19MY 350's share the same block and heads as the GT500 (Predator). That's awesome! A boost ready setup from factory.

After Ford's announcement last November (2019) that they would be closing the Romeo Niche engine plant (present location that assembles the 5.2 FPC/CPC engines) in the future based on contract negotiations with the UAW which resulted in a new 4 year contract between Ford and the UAW.

Let's hope that the Romeo engine plant stays open for at least a couple more years as this plant has a terrific history of hand assembling some terrific engines including all of the previous generation 5.4L GT500 SC engines with the 2012/2013 Boss 302 engines being assembled just across the border in Windsor, Ontario and then shipped to the FRAP for installation.

Going forward good luck to all of the hourly and salaried staff from the Romeo Niche engine plant and hope that your eventual relocation will all work out!

The early motors will be highly coveted in the future due to their raw nature and being the first gen.
Or for having lower reliability, even if just percieved, and avoided. Won't know till its been 20-30yrs.
