2020 GT500 confirmed orders

I'm starting to think some of these dealers have already sold their allocation and are telling us they can't order in hopes of getting a 2nd allocation before we just find another dealer. I really want to trust my dealer but it seems pretty shady. Can't expect me to believe that Ford only allowed some of the dealers with allocations to order and randomly picked others that are unable to order.

Your probably right! If they can't or won't place order with deposit then I would have to think your getting led on. When I was trying to find a car to order I couldn't believe the unwillingness to help of lack of knowledge. I decided I'll try to buy once they hit the lot. Good luck in your search

Got a friend to call the dealer and ask about the Gt500 allocation they told him 15k and he could spec/order it now. That's 15k over sticker. They don't even have the decency to offer it to me for a markup. Kinda done with greedy dealers at this point like i understand you want to make money on the car but don't tell me MSRP then not give me the chance to buy after you changed your mind.

I’d be blasting whatever salesperson or sales manager is giving you the bullshit and post your experience on Facebook and google reviews. That is just a slimy thing to do.

That’s too bad. Unfortunately that is exactly what’s going on for most of these dealers.

They’re also trying to sell off the allocation to other dealers for a markup and probably playing hardball a little.

My dealer was offered $15,000 for his allocation by another dealer if it was a golden ticket. Fortunately for me it was not, otherwise I’d likely be in the same boat.

So how exactly does the golden ticket work? Are all 1250 of them distributed/allocated already or will they be distributed over time.
I have an agreement w a local dealer for 10k over, however, I explained I'd only be willing to pay that for track pack. Gave some ear about commodities etc and that when the order goes into the back what ever commodities are available at that time will be what is allocated. As he went into system he could select track pack and any option. I agreed to pay a refundable deposit and place order for track pack although I did state I wouldn't be willing to pay 10k over for base. ( maybe 5 but I really want track pack). So for me a track pack would be worth 10k over but not base as I'm fairly certain patience would pay off and gently used base models will be around under sticker in 1-2 years.

There is nothing to stop a dealer from ordering a CFTP GT500. The ordering system has no way of knowing if the dealer has a golden ticket. The only thing that might stop him is the Ford Rep., even then I don't know what the impact would be on the offending dealer. Basically any car without an allocation sits in the order bank until the end of the MY and then gets deleted from the bank, unless your dealer is chosen by Ford to receive a late allocation and your dealer assigns the allocation to your car. This is how I got my 2013, the dealer ordered my car without an allocation and when I was finally told, I decided to order a 2014. As soon as I ordered a 2014 from another dealership, my original dealer won "The Lottery" and received an additional allocation. I went with the 13 and helped the other dealer find a buyer for the 14.

Correct. Dealers have their allocations. However dealers are confusing allocation with a pulled order for build.

@edmd007 wanted to know how the Golden Ticket/CFTP cars were allocated with my response being very simple and straight forward.

Yes, some dealerships (very few) have already received communication with respect to their 2 seat CFTP allocations with each of these allocations being determined by a small select group in Dearborn with no decision making being made by the regional or zone reps and that the allocation process for the 2 seat cars is still in the very early stages and will continue to unfold during the rest of the MY.

Pretty all straight forward stuff therefore not sure what is so confusing to you?

As it was explained to me, it's different this time around. It used to be the reps would pull the orders and the car would get built. Dealers know they have the allocations. However as Harry has stated, this time around the CFTP orders are being selected by a small group in Dearborn. I first learned of this from my dealership. I verified this with someone who knows people

Now that the information is public, I can confirm that the manner that orders are pulled has changed.

Dealers prioritize their orders, regional reps prioritize the dealers orders and the plant determines when the cars get built.
