@Brmiller49

Hit up the GT350 forum on here; I posted your link there for the other GT350 forum members to discuss and assist.

Something is definitely amiss at Ford... QC, inferior parts suppliers or supplied parts, or the “hand built” part of the process is failing somehow...

That’s a shame....

Do call the Ford 800# and reach out to get a Ford Regional CSR involved and get a Case number established....

and definitely check out this thread of a 2020 GT350R engine failure if you are on the fence with keeping the vehicle and having it repaired or going for a Ford Buy Back (lots of good info):
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...-booboo-engine-replacement-experience.137204/

What did you decide to do ? Mine died today with 434 miles on it.

That looks like a snapped valve stem and it cracked the rocker arm ?

Wow to some that actually consider that the “ chicken little “ comments are the major reality? How many fantastic GT350’s are providing unbelievable performance with out any problems? The super majority! Bad news sells better than good news ! These are all man made and man hasn’t reached perfection yet ! There’s no company that can deliver what the performance Vs cost and resale of Ford Motor co” ! You want trouble? By a GM product and watch it depreciate between its problems! ”
Finally someone with a little common sense. Thank you, sir!

Hi there. My engine blew today with 424 miiles.
So sorry to hear about that! It’s devastating to spend that much and have that happen! Our Ford dealer here in Denver is going to give us a refund.
Here’s a pic of the new engine that arrived today!

Congratulations on the refund. As I’m watching the USA ice dancing tonight it reminds me of my final scca pro solo championship winning run in my Saleen Mustang! Memories lol . As I look at the block It makes me think of a comment I heard from someone who said at a dealership an engine was replaced because the air conditioner froze up and it broke the block is that possible?

You do realize that rockets that cost billions of dollars have exploded quite catastrophically, yet that didn’t stop us from continuing on with space exploration, right? Waaah wahhh, you have a lot of money and shit happened. No one really cares. Nut up and get another one if you really want one, otherwise get over yourself and buy a camaro or something.

Listen I don’t usually do this- but your a tool bag- the guy worked HARD for this car which was one of his dream cars- billions of dollars for rockets? Wtf? Cool story about that what ever that means- THIS is about him sharing with US his personal experience of having his dream getting shattered in around 200 miles- AND get this it’s NOT a 2017 GT with a performance pack couldn’t quite swing the Shelby huh guy? .... that being said you seem like the guy in the food store who grabs the last of the toilet paper with everything going on....

Rocketry is barely contained explosions. Engine building has been largely "perfected" for 50 years. There is zero excuse for uncommanded high-speed disassembly of a gasoline engine. Ford should spend the next 2 weeks during the shutdown doing some soul-searching. It's a $60,000+ car. What's so wrong with putting EVERY engine on a hot dyno and doing some break-in cycles and say an hour-long burn-in?

My car had a bad #5 Valve, according to the service tech.

Dropping valves seems to be the current issue with the 2020 GT350... not sure why though. Bad batch? QC issues from supplier? Incorrect assembly or something else lacking or being overlooked during build?

One has to also wonder about 2020 GT350 owners who aren’t on this site but have had a similar failure...

I have read all of these post and treads of Engine failures...It does sux. I would be friggin pissed as hell if this happened to me. I paid cash for my 19 as many have here. But you also have to look at the number of cars built that are running fine and have not had the motors blow as well. HandBuilt does not guaranty "no issues". We would like to think the builders know what the F they are doing...they put their names on the build to make us feel better better ! Bad parts QC is another thing altogether....valves, guides rockers etc.... I have seen shit like this happen over the 58 yrs I have been breathing..and at times had my crap break many a time no doubt. Here is the deal and what really matters! What matters is how Ford deals with the issue. Do they take care of the customer or say see ya? They are going to replace the motors apparently anyway or buy back the car, correct? I hope the buy back # is the number you paid and not some BS algebrad stupid formula crap. I would like to know if this is or is not the case? Again, What matters is how Ford takes care of you the customer. All the rest is noise.

Hey there ,

My engine seized at 420 miles. It was a broken # 5 valve. They ordered a new engine and it’s in the process of being installed. The Ford Rep is supposed to call me back by 3-31, after an initial long discussion. There was another GT 350 next to mine that had a broken #7 valve. Buyback or warranty extension will be on the table for discussion. I wish they could isolate which batch of these engines are affected. I am sure there are many others out there that run perfectly in this amazing car. I know our car being a Shelby that there are not a ton out there on a national level. How many miles do you have on yours ?
