Bought a 2020 GT350 from a local Ford dealer on Feb 17. On Saturday, the engine shut down, luckily in a Target parking lot. Car was transported to the dealer’s service department on the same day. Today, got the word that the engine has likely seized up and will need to be replaced. This at 206 miles on a car I paid 70K cash for! Does anybody know what would have happened if this had happened on a freeway?
I no longer trust this car! Service people were not surprised that this happened! Wow!

By the way, does anybody know how many GT350s will be built for the 2020 model year?
Thanks!
I bought a 2020 R my chassis # is LR018 and is still running fine at 450 miles. Was wondering is maybe was an early batch and mine could be susceptible.

IMO if valves their supplier sent are improperly forged then the failures should happen earlier than later so if an engine has quite a few thousand miles on it I believe you’re going to have no problems!

So sorry OP. Your failure sounds just like mine as I drove it only 720 miles and the failure was also in a parking lot at idle speed. Already linked above but definitely read through my thread as there is some good discussion and links to specific buy back threads: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...o-engine-replacement-experience.137204/page-9

Make sure to call customer care right away and open a case # for your warranty repair and/or replacement vehicle. You will get a foreign call center but they will get you a case # and assign you to a USA based zone rep who will call you and discuss your concerns and follow through with the process. If you choose to repair and keep it this also will expedite your repair.

This makes three early engine failure on the 2020 350. Common to me and one other is seizure due to valvetrain issue on number 7 cylinder. Good luck and keep us updated!

Just amazing. How many GT350's have you seen with engine failure. As a matter of fact I have never seen so many "lemon buy backs" as I have lately. GT's too! It really is unbelievable. Bottom line is quality is down.

Wow to some that actually consider that the “ chicken little “ comments are the major reality? How many fantastic GT350’s are providing unbelievable performance with out any problems? The super majority! Bad news sells better than good news ! These are all man made and man hasn’t reached perfection yet ! There’s no company that can deliver what the performance Vs cost and resale of Ford Motor co” ! You want trouble? By a GM product and watch it depreciate between its problems! ”

Yet again- I said it before I’ll say it again- when my 2020 R arrives (virus free) I’ll be driving it home because of issues like this- if I trailer it back it’s because of plans of getting it wrapped in PPF- I’ll just have to painters tape the most vulnerable areas- I never had a new vehicle fail on me- But honestly it’s one story after another with these cars....
