And I have to say they kind of deserve it. The dealers are the ones that really needed a kick in the nuts. How's the ADM looking now? Discount maybe? That's what you get when you show up late at the party! How long ( how many years) has everyone been waiting for Ford to produce this GT500? Now the DCT ony makes perfect sense. Without the DCT you would probably be looking at 0-60 in low 4's. They are talking less than 3 seconds on the base model.
Low 4s? Ha! The ‘18 GT PP1 A10 did 0-60 in 3.8 seconds (car and driver test). ‘13 GT500 with 6 speed geared for 200 mph did 3.5 seconds. The GT500 would do at least that with a 6 speed, and better than 3.5 with an A10 on street tires. I think it’ll be low 3s, not mid 3s, when the mag tests come out. Capable of mid 2s on drag radials and a prepped track.

I can't fit two little boys who constantly say "Let's go fast daddy" in the back of a corvette. I thought the C7 looked badass... This? Eh. To many conflicting lines.. All over the place..

And no, they specifically said under 3 seconds with the Z51 package, not base model. Base model ME Vette probably in low 3s and mid 11s in the 1/4.

Have you hit any of those numbers personally? I haven't seen too many claims from "real" drivers that they have hit 3.9 in a GT. Can't find many youtube video's either. (other than ford promo video's with a pro driver)

No, just quoting the magazine tests, which are the best we have for comparison. And the bench mark from the mags is 3.8 seconds 0-60 in the PP1 A10 (C&D). MT did 3.9.

It's hard to beat automatics and DCTs in acceleration. Even more - mid and rear engine cars from a dig.

I would not be surprised - and I'd do this if I were GM - if the Z51 package gets a higher trim package requirement and/or gets a little more something-something more like the Z07 (on the Grand Sport).

They did pull a Ford though, with the Mag suspension being tied into the Z51 (i.e., the Mag suspension requiring the GTPP).
It never has. At least since C4 it has been possible to order a 1LT with Z51 and nothing else. Zip. Nada. I had a roommate that ordered a white 1LT with Z51 and no other options. Then modded the hell out of it.

Ford is their own worst enemy with the ADM bullshit. The GT350 should have never been a "Shelby", it was a Boss 302 more or less but they put that Shelby name on it to raise the price more. People want to pay for that Shelby name though, and Ford knows this. At the end of the day the C8 is a clean slate design that is for all intents and purposes solely for the Vette. Ford is pushing the Shelby on a 5 year old chassis that it shares with the 4cyl EcoBoost Mustang. To normal people that can be seen as a turnoff.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Like the C7, if your a tall and big guy like me, you are not fitting into a C8. I tried my best with the C7 and spent 15 minutes adjusting the seat at a car show with one of those pretty women, and I could not fit even with the seat all the way down. Plenty of room in the mustang and my 911s

Show me an owner of a 13 gt500 running 200mph stock. I have not seen a single one despite the mfg claim.
Similar to the demon achieving 9.64 trap in the 1/4 mile.
This may happen to the c8, doing 0-60 in under 3 secs, or the car retailing for 60k and under.

Pipe dream.. :D
