You’re right, it’s $5k across the board. I would not expect it to increase much if at all, though because some of the content of Z51 for C7 is now standard content on C8. Dry sump is first thing that comes to mind. $8k is very unlikely. $5,500....$6,000....maybe. More than that, I doubt it.
True on the dry sump. I guess we will find out in time. I'd be surprised if it was $65K all in with the Z51. I'm still putting my money on $70K and mid-high 70's reasonably equipped, and into the 80's fully equipped.

The Z06 already starts at $81K. Pretending there's only a $5K increase for that model too puts you in the mid 80's. I doubt a fully optioned Z51 will beat a GT500. So you're a good 10K over a GT500 to be similar/faster. The base C8 isn't a slam dunk compared to the GT500.

It looks like an Acura NSX to me.

I am a Ford guy. I will buy a GT500.

I would not be surprised - and I'd do this if I were GM - if the Z51 package gets a higher trim package requirement and/or gets a little more something-something more like the Z07 (on the Grand Sport).

They did pull a Ford though, with the Mag suspension being tied into the Z51 (i.e., the Mag suspension requiring the GTPP).

Introduce me to the person who won’t notice the GT500 and I will get to meet a blind man.

Not a Chevy guy at all but I have to say they did just deliver Ford the kick in the nuts they really need! Could have beat them to the mid engine game. They already built the GT (three times!). After all the ADM's they are going to crank those things out with no ADM's. Might not be the nicest looking thing in the world but performance per dollar wise it is a game changer. We are only talking the base model too.

Yeah, my least favorite thing is the exterior design, interior I will really have to gets some hands on with (it looks, interesting, but there's a big difference in aesthetics vs. ergonomics).

Mechanically it seems awesome, I think the pushrod based LT2 is actually cool, that means a H/C tune, and you could have a 575+ HP N/A mid-engine car for well under $100K.

I’m sure glad all these “hardcore Mustang enthusiasts” that were on the GT500 forum are bailing at the drop of the hat with the mid-engine. At this rate, there won’t be any ADM.

I love it. these same people last week were debating to pay rent or eat, now they are "ditching buying the gt500 for a base C8 "
Those same people all so happen to be Mustang GT owners

This increases my hopes of a GT500 at MSRP or even a rebate. Maybe even discounted CFTP and other options. $60K looks to be a good deal and no hard limit on production numbers.
