2018 window randomly moves up and down 1/4 inch

I’ve got this problem in my 2017 S550. Stupid question but it’s not going to kill the battery while I figure out a solution, right?

It should not cause a battery draining issue.

Mine did that when I was test driving it. The dealer installed a new window motor under warranty. They said, it is a common issue. Maybe it was just dirty contacts as stated in this thread. Silicone grease can work wonders.

My 2016 Convertible does this constantly on the passenger side. My wife calls her CHRISTINE. She is just waiting for the old music to start playing, and she said she would jump. The Schizophrenic window does calm down at some point, or we just have the top down and don't care about it. My battery has never been below 12 Volts even when its in my garage when I'm out of town for a week.

Well, Thanks to all you guys, you have saved my last bit of sanity I had left. I had this issue was driving me nuts.

Tried the Recalibrate (No Luck)

Found this thread and found the plug. No water in it since garage kept and not out in rain much but tried anyway.
Used Electric contact cleaner on plug. Then used De-electric grease as noted.
Well resolved the issue.
Guess there was some corrosion in there on that line caused the issues.

So thank You for this, without it would have cost me fortune going to dealer and watching them play wack a Mole for part replacement.

If it comes back, mine did after about a year, you need to replace the window motor.

My trouble with window ended up being the door latch assembly

Nothing ultimately worked for me until I had the motor replaced on that passenger window. A year later the driver side started doing the same thing and I just went straight to replacing the motor. The shop determined it needed a new pigtail on the driver's side too for some reason.

I did this when I replaced the door speakers. Worked great for several months. I still get an occasional random few cycles of the window, but it's much better than before. Oddly, the last time it acted up, it had been completely dry (no rain) for a few weeks. FWIW, my connector may have something to do with it. It took A LOT of force to get it to actually "click" after adding the grease.

Would like to chime in that this helped my mechanic tremendously in figuring out the issue and taking some decent steps to resolve it today (hopefully permanently, but time will tell).
Connectors were wet, so those got cleaned out, dried and then taped in to prevent water from getting in as much as possible.
Mechanic did comment on the poor design choice of the connector for the window motor being plugged in in an upwards direction.

I did this and it lasted about another year when I had to replace the window motor. I now suggest replacing the motor and filling the plug with dielectric grease.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who posted here for pointing me in the right direction to fix an issue that has been a regular annoyance for over a year! Cleaning and dielectric grease application just done on the passenger door sockets and it appears it worked. No more jumping window for now, and I hope it lasts!

Unfortunately it won't, be prepared to replace the window motor unit within a year.

Yes, that is one of the 3 plugs I did on my second attempt. So, in my case it very well could have been that one for me as well.

Pulled the interior panel last weekend and cleaned all the connections I could see (did not touch the door latch) with electronic cleaner, reattached. I believe fixed. Have driven a lot since I did this and no issue. Only been a few days though. On the window motor plug, it felt like it would not snap onto the motor. I pushed it in as hard as I could without feeling like I was gonna break anything. I saw some corrosion there. Electronic cleaner seemed to have removed the corrosion. I think it's just that connector. Did not use dielectric goop.
