Not necessarily. Sync 3 has come a long way since its inception. From v2.2 onwards it's been quite reliable, and I've never had any trouble updating it.You have more chances of not being able to update sync because of their crappy system then anything else.
I haven't been able to update to 3.3 as many others for weeks. Theres a thread on it. Ford acknowledged there's issues on the website for downloads and they have no idea of when it might be fixed. They told me I could go to my dealership but will have to pay.Not necessarily. Sync 3 has come a long way since its inception. Tell that to Volkswagen.Given the bbq tick, typewriter tap and faulty timing chain tensioners (chirp) on many cars, how reliable is the latest incarnation of the 5lt coyote engine likely to be down the track.
I would have thought that a company the size of Ford would have had these issues sorted prior to production.
