Its the internet, you will hear more complaints that anything else. Buy what you want and be happy. If your not happy with your purchase, sell and go buy something else...

You have more chances of not being able to update sync because of their crappy system then anything else.
Not necessarily. Sync 3 has come a long way since its inception. From v2.2 onwards it's been quite reliable, and I've never had any trouble updating it.

I haven't been able to update to 3.3 as many others for weeks. Theres a thread on it. Ford acknowledged there's issues on the website for downloads and they have no idea of when it might be fixed. They told me I could go to my dealership but will have to pay.

I see. I didn't know that. For European vehicles we use the Ford UK website, which appears to work just fine. But it only works with European VINs, so that probably isn't of much use to you. I know I couldn't use the American website and update packages back when no updates were available in Europe yet.
Anyway, Sync 3 itself seems to be quite stable and mature now. In my Mondeo I have the latest build of v3.0 and I have yet to encounter any bug. All the minor bugs that I had with the previous versions seem to be gone now. I don't know about v3.3, but I would be surprised if it were any worse.

My 2018 GT Premium has been flawless to date, going on 9K miles.

Just got a Consumers Report New Cars issue and the Camaro was rated the least reliable of all sporty cars. I'm not bashing the Camaro, I like all brands. Challenger and Mustang were even.

I don't put a lot of faith in Consumer Reports.

26k miles. Had the 2k rattle since 5k. Developed the bbq tick at 25k! Thought I was past the usual window when people develop it but I've only heard it a few times and very light. Car drives like a beast and loves abuse. No issues with reliability to date.

7500miles on mine, 5500 of it on 100% E85. Zero issues. The transmission (MT82) has sort of sucked since the start, but I am not sure it is unreliable. Time will tell.

Zinc03svt,

maybe you should consider another ‘social’ forum, where all the questions will be new to you and you can give your ‘highly educated’ responses  :puke: :sun:

Finally after a year of dealing with annoying sync pop-ups with every start, and 50 attempts with the help desk to resolve, I finally left my ‘18 at the dealership for a week to update to the latest Sync version. It feels like I got a new car when I got it back.

As far as everything else? Two thumbs up (knock on wood).

When I was shopping for the 2018s, I’ll admit I was very skeptical given by how much chatter there was about the ticking and the cylinder scoring. I ended up disregarding most of the hate thrown towards the gen 3 engines and I’m honestly glad I did. I had a ticking noise but 10 quarts of 5w-30 full synthetic later I haven’t heard a thing since. My 2018 runs like an absolute champ and has given me zero problems at nearly 30k miles now with e85

Given the bbq tick, typewriter tap and faulty timing chain tensioners (chirp) on many cars, how reliable is the latest incarnation of the 5lt coyote engine likely to be down the track.
I would have thought that a company the size of Ford would have had these issues sorted prior to production.
Tell that to Volkswagen.

My crystal ball is on the fritz, so I can't speak to future reliability.

It'll probably blow up on you as soon as you drive it off the lot..... That being said, I put 14K on mine with a Whipple and mid 700's to the wheels with no issues before it met an untimely death.
