Attention anyone who upgraded a PP1 GT to FP M-FR3A-M8A . . .

I just heard from someone on YouTube that the FP Track Pack M-FR3A-M8A is effectively the same as a stock PP setup, except for the coils and sway bars.

Is this true? I thought the dampers were also different in the Track Pack to work with the different rates of the M-5300-YA coil springs?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Don’t believe everything you hear or watch on the internet
Big difference between pp1 and the ford racing track suspension
Springs, shocks, sway bars are all different

Ford doesn't have a large vocabulary in the marketing department, much like the factory performance pack vs. the Ford Racing performance pack being two completely different things. There were two different handling packages offered from Ford Performance:
M-FR3A-MAA = Street Handling Package was the same as PP1 but with lowering springs.
M-FR3A-M8A = Track handling Package and is a completely different beast.

Understood. Ford Performance states that the Street Handling Pack is effectively the PP. But besides Magneride and different tuning for the Sport Cup 2 tyres, is there any reason to suspect the PP2 makes use of the Track Pack?

No because the track pack comes with shocks and struts so it would be pretty pointless to install those on a mag ride car. Ford and other companies make specific springs for mag ride so go with those and the Ford sways or any other brand.

No it's not really the same thing. The Magnaride cars actually use a fairly light spring where as the FP Track Handling Pack is something closer to what a non-Magnaride GT350 had only with a lot more sway bar applied. They don't release spring rates so we'll never know, this is all from scuttlebutt that I think I remember hearing so take it as you will.

Does anyone know if the FP track suspension comes with hardware for installation?

It does not say so, but i was told by FP that it does come with the necessary hardware now. I wound up cancelling my order for other reasons, so cant say for sure. This was 3 weeks ago. If i recall correctly it did not have it originally which is why the offer the hardware kit. But now comes with what is needed.

That’s good that it comes with hardware now. It should have from the start. Half of the kit you don’t even need unless you follow their directions and basically drop the entire rear suspension.
