Does anyone have access to stock tune for the 2018 Mustang GT. Having light issues and need to update BCM firmware but afraid the “stock” tune I have access to isn’t actually stock and therefore may not be able to get Forscan to connect.

There isn't one "stock tune" for, say, a model year. It's essentially car specific.

Take your car to the dealership, and have it re-flashed back to stock.

its 100 dollars, easier to just have dealer flash it back to stock, at least my dealer charges 100 for it.

when you tune a car, you're flashing the PCM not the BCM, I don't think flashing to stock will do anything for you.

Why do you need to update the BCM?

No just flashing back to stock so Forscan will work. Then flash BCM with Forscan. So have aftermarket euro style taillights with diode dynamic sequencers. Also have led side markers and an aftermarket 4th light at bottom of bumper that is hardwired into taillights. Everything was good then lost brake lights. Now when I step on pedal brake lights flash yellow for about 2 seconds and everything goes blank. 3rd brake light on windshield doesn’t illuminate at all. Someone thinks the bcm needs to be updated so that I can determine if one of the aftermarket parts is causing the module to mess up.

Get pcmtec. Limited time for $99 plus the cable. You can read your tune, compare to stock (their built-in library contains all stock tunes) or make custom mods.

@Rolls for more info.

My guess is going to be something with what you mention above. You have another light hardwired into your taillights. Any chance you can unhook that and put your factory lights in to test? I don't think a BCM update is going to do anything for you since this was working before. Hunch says its something in your wiring..

I use forscan on my tuned car all the time, no changed needed, what error is forscan reporting?

I don’t have the oem lights. The 4th light has been wired in since I’ve had the car and hasn’t created any issue. So I don’t know. I’m wondering if maybe third brake light went out and that is causing the issue.

I haven’t tried it yet. Will see.

That device loads the tune I have.
Only big tune shops can use the RTD.

Like Mike said easiest is to get PCMtec for 99 and be able to download and load your stock tune.

The Diode Dynamic sequencer (assuming it's not built into your Euro lights, your wording was a little unspecific there) is an inline device - you should be able to just yank it from the car and reconnect the two stock ends to remove it from the suspicion list. One easy test before firing the parts cannon.
