If you could send me everything you used that would be great, picking up a built motor this weekend hoping to knock this out all next week.I've done it twice now in my garage. It's pretty simple.
Basically, you take your hood off, disconnect all your cooling hoses, take off cooling fans, take off your intake, disconnect your exhaust after the manifold/header, take off starter, take off a/c compressor, take off the alternator, unbolt trans, unbolt motor mount nuts, disconnect the wiring harnesses, take off oil filter, pull the engine out the top.
You will need an engine hoist (Find an equipment rental place, like commercial equipment rental, they probably have engine hoists to rent).
Then you will need an engine lift plate (I recommend the mmr one: https://www.lethalperformance.com/m...te-w-hook-2011-2024-5-0l-5-2l-ford-t1800.html). Have the anchor in the hole closest to the front of the engine.
If you want an engine stand buy a cheap one from Harbor Freight.
You can get the documents on how to do it or if you want I can send them to you. You basically just follow the official Ford procedure and they even have nice pictures.
You can leave a lot of stuff on the engine. You should be able to leave the headers on (I was able to). I left the oil pan, balancer, and water pump on.
Install and removal instructions attached. They reference other documents. Look through it and let me know which other ones you want.If you could send me everything you used that would be great, picking up a built motor this weekend hoping to knock this out all next week.
