Thank you for the reply. I am trying to mimic what was done on page 46 post #687 where they just flashed the PCM with a calibration from a car with active exhaust. I have a PP2 so not many options besides AE and no AE. I’m not really interested in tuning if I don’t have to but I have already accumulated all components so that may be my only option as I really don’t want to wing it and brick this PCM.

You don’t have to flash a tune. I used my hptuner to access the PCM and turn on the feature. Active 1 & 2. (Top right)

I don’t currently have a tuner. I assume I would have the go the same route as if I was going to tune as in needing to buy the credits? Or because you don’t flash it doesn’t need credits.

Yea, I think I did have to buy credits. You might have to flash the PCM from another car I guess. My car is a roush/pretty much a fully loaded pp1. Only thing missing was AE. Never tried to DL my PCM data and I’m not sure if you can use mine. Can it be done through Forscan?

From these older post 2 people claimed to do it. You do need Forscan beta to flash. The PP2s aren’t common so I am having trouble getting people to send me the as built data to copy. I do appreciate the help man, I am going to just end up paying for credits vs paying for a bricked PCM replacement.

Good luck, that’s probably the safer route.

Hallo zusammen,

An meinen 2018 pp1 ohne Active Exhaust habe ich alles nach Anleitung aus diesem Thread nachgerüstet.
Power und Ground sind ok, 12V am Stecker rechts und links gemessen.
Die 4 Can Leitungen direkt vom Stecker zu den Valves verlegt.
Forscan Einstellungen sind auch ok.
Relay sollte richtig herum sein.

wenn Zündung eingeschaltet wird machen die Klappen leicht auf. Motor Start, 5 Sekunden später schließen die Klappen ganz.
Ich denke das ist so normal.

Alles andere außer „Normal Mode„ funktioniert gar nich. FehlerMeldung nach etwa 20 Sekunden.

Alle Leitungen, Stecker, Pinbelegung hab ich dreimal geprüft, alles ok.

Ich habe den Verdacht das die Can Bus Signale nicht durchkommen.
kann man die am Stecker PIN Messen?

So I'm having some trouble getting this to work on my 2020 GT PP1 with analogue gauges. I was able to get the menu to pop up on the dash. I got a tune with the active exhaust activated from Wengerd. Now I get a message saying that exhaust mode selection is unavailable, but I can hear the valves move when I go into accessory mode so I know they are working.

Is it possible that the actuator are 180 out, is that even possible?

My Actuator is from another Exhaust, 90 Degrees turned.
I think the actuator can‘t Turn in a possible Position

I would start by making sure both valves are actually moving. You should be able to change back and forth from quiet mode and see them fully opened and fully closed.

That fixed the original issue, but now I’ve run into another problem.


The first time I took the car out, everything worked perfectly until I did a pull to redline. Right after that, the exhaust suddenly became quiet. I could still switch between the different exhaust modes, but Quiet, Normal, and Sport all sounded the same. Track mode was the only one that still sounded loud.


I shut the car off for about 20 minutes, and when I started it back up, the exhaust modes were working normally again. However, after driving less than a mile, the problem returned. Once again, every mode was quiet except for Track.
