Unfortunately Forscan won't activate the exhausts alone, I'm still trying to find a way of activating within the PCM itself.
Thanks for the reply.

I took my car in to the dealer after I purchased it last year, inquiring about why my active exhaust wasnt working. I can see it on the screen (track, silent, race, normal), but when I select it, it stays in normal , AND it just says not activated when I start the car.

The dealer says I'd have to purchase a new car with active exhaust...lol, cause my car doesn't have that option. Makes no sense though.

Here pic of the exhaust, valves, actuators. The actuators were connected to a wire harness before I removed the exhaust system.

What are you guys looking at far as relays etc...?

Ok I have what I think will be excellent news for a lot of people. I bought a 2019 A10 401A Magnaride PP1 Safe Smart GT in August. It did not have AE and I wanted it. It did already have the wiring (except for the 3 harnesses in the back to the acutators. So I purchased the following items:
1 - JR3Z-14A411-J wiring harness (Y harness)
2 - JR3Z-14A411-H wiring harnesses (from Y to actuator)
2 - JR3Z-5K245-B actuators
1 - 140742BC Borla S-Type Active exhaust system with black chrome tips

Now I installed the exhaust last weekend and used forscan to enable it on the dash IPC 720-10-01. I enabled nothing else. In one of these posts it said 720-04-01 as well but I did not touch it. Now like everyone else I tried a few things with other as built data but nothing panned out. So I had ordered an E85 tune from PBD during black Friday sale earlier in the month. I had already sent a copy of my stock file to them to get the initial tune to me. I got my initial file from them day before thanksgiving. I was planning on taking the car to a dealer here who did the other gentleman who got his working by having the dealer turn it on in the PCM. I had wanted to do that over this long weekend, but it dawned on me that it would get overwritten by my PDB tune because it was not done BEFORE I sent them the stock file. So I send Trevor a response explaining what I had done and what I hoped to accomplish. I asked if I had to resend a file after I have it fixed by dealer OR does HP tuners allow you to turn it on/off (as it does for hellcats, vettes, and camaros). So this after noon he sent me another initial tune (I never loaded the other one) and he said he wasn't sure if it would work, but he turned it on. IT WORKS!!!!! I have full factory active exhaust now. So those of you that are already tuned by an HP tuners tuner you can have it turned on (assuming you have all the other parts installed)

I have a 2016 Convertible GT Premium. I have access to a 2016 GT350 active exhaust and GT350 rear valance. How involved would it be to add this exhaust hard-wired to my car? Anyone ever try this? Thanks.

Anyone smart enough to rig up an Arduino with a knob to control this?

From reports that 12 V makes the valve move very quickly my guess is it uses a PWM signal to go to an intermediate position. Next time I am under my Mustang I hope to check the signal with an oscilloscope.

Hey guys new here to this forum but much like you guys I was looking into the possibilities of adding active exhaust to my GT PP1 because I could not find the combination of color/features I wanted however unfortunately for 19MY there is some additional programming thru the PCM based on the feedback here.

So for the guys here who have 19MY's I understand there were two successful attempts (maybe more...allottt of post) where a dealer took care of the PCM update and the other guy went thru HPTuners.
Has there been any further digger into this to understand where what change is required for the PCM to activate the active exhaust for 19MY's.

Also I have verified that the connector is at the rear of the vehicle next to the charcoal canister and I have a GT Premium 401A PP1 w/BLIS, 12in LCD, memory seats...I do NOT have B&O, LDP (lane departure), ICC (intelligent cruise control), or auto wipers. Hope that helps with list that was created.

Still trying to figure it out with my MY19. Just taking forever comparing ASBUILT data and lots of trial and error. I have all the wiring and motors just didn't by an exhaust yet. I can get the option to show up on the Gauges but the motors do not move when I change the mode. I don't see any new options using the Ford Dealer programmer.

I think this is the correct plug?

Also, for us 2019's that need the PCM also programmed. My first thought was reaching out to my Tuner, PBD, and see if they can turn it on. I watched a video a while back from Alejandro Flores, Lund Tuner, where he mentioned AA tables being listed in the PCM.

Trevor is who did mine. I would imagine most people going to the expense to switch exhaust out are going to have it tuned as well so it makes the process easy imo.

I wonder if they will make a tune to enable active exhaust. Do not have any other mods just yet so I didn't have a reason to have a tune. Just went through more As Built codes compared and tested on the PCM module with no changes to the exhaust motors I have connected.

Just wanted to thank everyone for contributing to figuring this out went through all 34 pages this afternoon and it has been a journey. Made an account just to say thanks. I am one of the people with a 2019 PP 401a with the plug and am hoping for a solution as I am kicking myself for not getting active. (Want a corsa but my neighbors are too nice to piss off and they have young kids)
