Is removal of the original tips difficult, i imagine the mufflers have to be removed and they are cut off and new ones welded in place , am i wrong?
they are all funny shaped. If you remove em it would be a nightmare. These are tips slid over the existing and tacked on...

Sabtaj1 is correct. Do not cut the factory tips or you will never get it lined up as they come out of the muffler on an angle. Just slide the new tips over the stock ones and tack weld them. As a side note, I got a steeda h-pipe and with the factory active exhaust the sound is pure bliss. No drone and quiet mode is still very quiet

Thanks guys I wasn't sure if that's you did, I had it in my mind the were removed and then the new ones welded on. So I need to find tips with correct ID to slip over the originals and get them welded on?

If you read back you will see what we did. The ID is irrelevant because the stock tips are 3.5 inches, so you need a 4 inch tip that you will cut to size and slide over the stock tip

I wonder if WD Pro is going to go ahead with the double sleeved slip on tips that he designed.

A 'tip' is something that fits over the muffler tubes. Our mufflers do not have tips; they're just the tubes coming out of the muffler, so you cannot remove them. They're fully welded in place. You could slide real tips over them, but they'd be oversized, and wouldn't conform with the bumper, since tips are straight, not slanted, like the stock tubes. I wanted to do something about those ugly things too, but decided to leave them alone. Not worth the trouble IMO. But if somebody finds tips that actually fit and look good, I'd be all ears. Ha ha.

I see your point Elp_jc it's a futile exercise short of actually painting the original muffler pipes. Maybe something i will just have to live with...lol

Yes, I plan on doing - but I’m only one week into ownership so I’ve got lots of other things on my plate first ... lol

Out of interest, my stock tips were poorly finished - burrs on the ends, sharp ends, uneven finish and then as it’s a U.K. car, they were even kind enough to cover them in black underseal overspray ...

A bit of work with the dremal and then application of a more even brushed finish had them Looking a lot more presentable :

Have the MP Concepts w/ the slide on tips installed. Was a huge pain to get everything aligned and in but eventually was able to get it done. Love how it looks now in the rear as opposed to the factory tips.

Love this, looks quite nice!

I can attest to the stock tips having sharp edges.. Cut my finger the other day when washing the car.

I ended up having them painted with a matte black Raptor paint ( i'd never heard of it but my panel shop used it when the painted my OE spoiler and it is tough as and looks great ), not the easiest or cheapest fix and you still have the sharp edged tips, but it looks great and keeps everything original.

Thanks for this armykyle. the guy who welded them on for me told me that when he tried to push them on harder they went all slanted and he could never get them to look straight from behind. I did call X-Force yesterday instead of emailing and I spoke to a technical engineer and he told me those tips I really only made for the X-Force exhaust but if you wanted to put them on the factory you would have to cut off the factory tips and put them on and hope that they lined up. He said he has never done that
My regular exhaust guy was booked out so I tried another guy who refused because he said to cut and weld them on would be too close to the active exhaust actuator.

My regular exhaust was able to make them work.

If the stock system was a little more straight, we could put any tips on. As it is I'm already over $300 and I don't have a solution. Any more money and I should have just bought an axle back magnaflow
My labor to cut and weld tips was $150.
so $350 all in . Beats >$1000 ... at least ...for magnaflow Axle backs

It looks good and straight. I would have the outermost tip to be a little more recessed so as to follow the lines of the bumper

Yeah .
I may have him mess with them a bit if he can but it already looks 100% better than the stock tipa.
