Don't mind all the gas cans. But I got mine today. I'm really happy with how they look. These should look awesome.

That angle is looking very similar to stock - I’m hoping that these fit perfectly for you :like: :sunglasses:

damn man. I would get those tips they cut off. shorten the outer ends and have em weld em back on to sit inside the new tips. That sucks man... I cant believe they loped em off. Atleast cut to sit inside that double wall edge. I dunno...
Hell, since they have to be shorter anyways, they could put it in the pipe expander and open em up just enough to slip over what is left of the pipes to get em just right.. Valance is bad*ss

yep, those would be useless. Not really sure, trying to think how I would approach it. not sure what those pipe diameters are off the muffler or how much space from the end to the beginning of the tips are. Where is the valance from? looks great, I like it. But is it fully seated where it meets the bumper cover? looks like its close but maybe not fully seated. when ya get a chance can you take a pic from under of muffler end and beginning of tips?

whoa... They are super close... shoot. well.... I mean you could take the screws out and pull the tips, and paint the backside of the mufflers black and make it waaaay less noticeable. for now? If so I would do a flat black high temp paint. Just an idea. Be easier and safer to remove em to do it but.... a bit to do. But I would pull em n do it. plus easier if you have an h or x pipe on it. from behind that back one side at a time.

Can I forgo the current tips on there and do something else like welding? Would some sleeve work or something?

possibly... May be quite the chore. If thats from I5 then those tips are 4.7". Not really sure and I dunno if the factory tips needed to be removed to make it work or not.

Posting here too.

I had a shop swap my rear valance for GT500 with tips. They cut the old activate exhaust tips and it looks awful. See pics. How can I fix this?

You've got a few issues. I don't see the stock tips ever lining up with the ones on the bumper. Also your rear defuser isn't properly attached to the bumper cover. Or the fitment is really bad. Those clips are a pain in the ass.

I finally got my black tips on. I bought 12 inch already finished black tips. I had a shop cut them to 6 inches and weld them on. I'm super happy with the look and the black paint did not get messed up at the cut. The welds are only at the back so the part you see is not messed up either. I made touch up the back where the weld is and where the cut is just so that the paint cannot flake forward but otherwise really happy with the look. Thanks sabtaj1 for taking the plunge for all of us to follow!

I had real problems with two shops that refuse to do the work because it was outside the box thinking for them. They also got mad that I brought my own tips to their shop. Heaven forbid you actually have to make a real measurement and make a real cut to make something work!

Is removal of the original tips difficult, i imagine the mufflers have to be removed and they are cut off and new ones welded in place , am i wrong?
