Just wondering if anyone here has looked at modifications to the stock active exhaust system to add wider or some nice polished tips?

It seems the valve system is pretty close to the tip, so not sure a generic welded double wall tip might work well?

what is the exhaust outlet measurement at the valve area?

I had a Shop finally look it over and unfortunately each tip is at 3.5" OD and the clearance between both is less than 1/2 inch. So going from a 3.5" to a existing 4" OD custom cut and rolled T304 tip cut to a length of 4-5" would have both pressing against each other. Bending it? too risky per shop cause the actuator is too close to the inner tip where the tip starts, so it would end up bending that out of place, and the tips will no longer be straight. The issue is the tip that Ford puts on to the muffler is not straight, it angles down on lower section then widens and straightens.

I guess the OEM exhaust tips have to stay, unless you spend over 1K to swap it with a Corsa axleback or Magnaflow etc. Hope the prices drop down someday, I might consider the simpler Corsa Touring/Sport Axleback.

Only local solutions is cerakote, paint it, get a 3.5" ID short sleeve of some kind?

Just leave it alone man. You'll end up messing it up. On a side note, you have anything else done to it? i'm a Mustang guy, had 6 or 7 that I can remember off the top of my head, and the first thing I always did is modify the exhaust. My 18 has the active exhaust though and I'm surprised how aggressive it sounds for a stock car. Is your exhaust still bone stock?

Yes bone stock and I love it, I just wanted to find ways to just spruce up the tips. inner tips are a little pitted a bit after 1K miles.

I just replied in another thread but a few of us bought 4 inch tips from eBay and cut then to 5 inches and slid them over the stock tips and welded the back. Looks very good in my opinion and keeps the stock active exhaust
