Also got the Velgen VMB5 in gunmetal and the Corsa xtreme cat back. Wait on BMR performance springs, vertical links and cradle lockout kit. Can’t wait. I got my nGauge from Lund last night and couldn’t wait. I loaded the tune and did a couple tips on the highway, what a freaking difference.

Tell your buddy to turn off advanced traction control. Not sure how much on the 2015-2017 but the traction control just neuters the low end on the gen3. There's a very noticeable difference on my 2019 with it in and off. Off feels great, on feels almost like I'm waiting for a turbo to spool up that kicks in around 4k rpm.

Seat of the pants felt like faster shifts, quicker acceleration. I dont have dyno #'s, but its definitely quicker. I did not run it up to 8000k or use paddle shifter, just let the tune do its thing. Stock or bolt ons 93 tune is what I got. Probably will pay the $200 and get the E85 tune soon.

Looks great! Did you get the 301A package with the drive modes, power seats, etc.?

I have the exact same OEM wheels. Not crazy about them but they are going to have to do for a while.

Actual rwhp differences between the 2017 and 2018 is actually like 40+ in the real world. That's a significant difference.
Proof? Cause the 15-17 v 18-20 MT-82 1/4 mile times for sure show only a 25 hp difference. The A10 with it's lightning quick shifts and aggressive gearing makes it 'seem' like it has more. Another thing to, the average guy with a stock 18+ A10 ain't running 11's. Period.

Oh, and Grabber Blue.. 2017 only, which makes all GB 2017's better than 18+ haha.

The 15-17 MT82 gearing is more aggressive which helps bridge the gap in the power difference between them. Even though Gens 3s make that much more power, they are not that much faster if at all than the Gen 2s due to gearing.

I'm an average guy, and I run 11s in my stock 2018 A10 in very mediocre air

Sumitomo HTR ZIII, Sonoma Raceway. DA over 1000. Bone stock except my budget tires and lowering kit. Lots of other guys do it too
I stand corrected, thanks for the education!

Too bad we can't see a gen 2 with an a10 swap. I'm content with my gen 2 GT/CS stick now but I am curious to see the difference. I would love to see a 4 eye fox with a gen 3 and a10. just stock power but 1000lbs lighter lol

100% worth it if $2k. Think about how you will use the car. Are you going to sell after 5-10 years? If you look at a 13 vs a 12 mustang (or a 2010 to 2009, etc) prices are around $1-2k more, so you would basically not lose any money, and be driving a nicer car. If $3k, the true cost of ownership is $1-2k over 5-10 years, or $10-20 a month. If you would sell after only a couple of years, I think the value would be about $2-3k more vs. a 17 in 2 years, so you would be about even. If you're keeping it for life, then c'mon, get what you love! You have to drive it every day for the next 20 years!!!
