Here already

I overheard a sales guy at the dealership making a big deal about the hood turn signals with a customer. He made it sound like this was the greatest thing since sliced bread! Not something I just gotta have! If it's on the car standard equipment that's fine though. I can imagine that some after market company is working on a retrofit kit for the 15 as we speak.

It's already here, from the aftermarket. I forget where I saw it, but the site included all of the install process, too. I think it cost about $135.

The one thing I didn't like about Starkey's kit is the light assembly is bright white and sticks out like a soar thumb when not lit up.

I'm into my OEM retrofit for $170 [emoji16]

People are really complaining about not being able to see them??! They are for other drivers not yourself. I'd hope you know which way you are turning without seeing your hood blinker..

Sure.
You can't see tail lights either or your turn signals. Why does everything has to be seen to be functional?
Agreed. Passengers can see it, and other cars approaching from the rear on the right side would be able to see it, which is fairly important if they happened to be in a blind spot. It's certainly not pointless. It has a function. And it's cool!

Then it's a signal to passing helicopters, your joking right?
You can't see any of passenger-side turn signals when you're driving. Why would the hood one be any different? This is a throwback feature designed to be a nod to the '60's Mustangs; it's not actually supposed to be functional. It's just there to be cool.

Over the last 150 years, I've had several MoPars with the good old fashioned fender-top turn signals. Even had a Valiant with the "Fuel Pacer" option! (Left hand signal would light up when you walked on the throttle)

So, I'm glad I waited for the '16 model year. It's a total gimmick; but that was sort of a trend back in the 60's and 70's! Things like 'Ford-O-Matic' transmission, "Dial-A-Matic" seats, "Safety Command" Brakes. Were they anything special over the ordinary? God no, but it was neat to have little brand names like that.

I think they're great, they hardly cost a nickle and hearkens back to a time when life was a little simpler.

.................................. even if you can't see the bloody things!
