That's why I have no desire to retrofit these onto my 15.

I did think it would be cool to put some bright red LEDs into the drivers side hood vent as a shift light.
Where I am sitting I can hardly see the driver side one. (eye mid windshield)

Then it's a signal to passing helicopters, your joking right?
It's supposed to be for people directly beside you. Not the occupants of the vehicle.

It's a novelty. I like them, even though I can't see the right side

This thread is full stupidity. Their not made so you, the driver of the mustang can see them. It's for other drivers on the road... god damn

I have been driving a long time and never looked at the guys hood to the left or right of me to see if he is turning. lol
Thats what the indicator on the mirror is doing already

It's not really an issue, but it is kind of dumb to design an indicator that can't be seen from the drivers seat, no?
They should have just left it alone so more air can extract, that would have made sense and I'm sure cheaper.
It's not meant for you to see, it's to "Indicate" to others your intent to turn and ironically if you're turning right and another car is to that side of your car then something is wrong!

I agree it's just a novelty and personally prefer the higher airflow which is the whole purpose of the vent.

Man I don't understand some people.

As someone mentioned a few posts ago you can't see your sequential taillights from the drivers seat but nobody bitches about that. Hell, you can see a single one of your other blinkers from the driver seat either lol.

This is purely novelty and meant to tie a little heritage back into the car from 1967 & 1968 when those years had hood blinkers to. THATS IT lol.

Yes, they are helpful for a vehicle that is taller than you (especially a big rig) to see when you are merging lanes or on the roadway.

No you can't see the passengers side from the drivers seat but who the hell cares.

I think a very good reason to have them is when you, or even worse your wife/kid is broken down on the side of the highway with the hood up and hazards on. This would prove very noticeable to cars driving down the road.

But as I said earlier, you can NOT see any of the four blinkers on your car from inside the cab either!

When I was 15 I bought my first car, a 1967 coupe and loved the blinkers. So much so I just bought some take offs from Roush and the OE harness to retrofit them into my 2015.

If you don't like them great, you don't have to.

This is how they are meant to be seen.

Say someone is in your blind spot, they can probbly see your hood blinker... so hopefully they see that you intend to pull into their lane and they move out of the way or honk their horn.... People make mistakes! Besides, who doesn't like blinky lights.

Where I live, people love to camp in the blind spot. The only way to shake them off is to turn on a blinker, in which case they rapidly accelerate.

Somehow my mustang makes people like to drive side by side all the time. It's very annoying. Like your Ford Focus is gonna out drag me if I suddenly decide to go full throttle?
