2016 Body Panel Welds

The edges of the door and trunk skins are not flat. Mostly noticable on the passenger side and not terrible but if looking down the side of the car its easy to spot in the right light. It almost looks like the weld of the skin to panal frame got too hot and bent the outer edges in a little. Not as bad on the drivers side but had a body shop look at it and they said the paint is factory but couldnt say much more. Its a new vert, anyone else?

Called ford customer service and logged issue, went to dealer and they agreed their were issues withe the hood, door and trunk. Sent me to body shop for estimate and now waiting for ford to contact me.

Took 2 and a half months for me to get approval to have mine fit together correctly. Dropping it off in the morning. Hopefully it's quicker for you.

Its not an alignment issue. The body shop said it looked like the roller the factory uses to put the skins on may have been out of calibration. We checked every other vert on the lot and none had the issue.

So the car was brought to the dealer and also evaluated by 2 body shops and needs a lot of body work and paint. The original 360 case was closed apparently due to this message stream, and the dealer opened a new case today. Here is my case #CAS-9067697-J5Y4X0

If it's that bad overall, why not just tell the Dealer to take the car back and order you another one that is better?

This is my first time in a situation like this and I agree that the car should be replaced. It needs rework on the trunk, rear passenger quarter, passenger door and hood, which will require painting most of the car.

You do know most door, hood, truck lid skins are glued on not welded. Just about every car maker do this

I did not know that when I wrote the post, but learned that while at the body shop. Guy said the machine that puts the skins on was probably uncalibrated among other things.

Should say glue is applied then door skin is put on and edges rolled

Yes, body guy said it looks like the roller that was not calibrated properly.
