Please forgive me,but I will never understand all of this hype over a 4 banger engine in a Mustang,Eco boost or turbo charged or what ever you want to call it, it is still a 4 banger,I guess I am still from the old school of 390 CI or 428 CI or 289 HP I love the 302 Ci 5.0 Coyote with 420 HP and the Mustang V8 growl, I wonder what the exhaust note will sound like out of that 4 banger.:headbonk::amen:

Who was it bitching about the Battlestar Galactica cover for the 5.0? I think this looks more like Galactica than the 5.0 one does! I'm glad these are all "pre-production" and not 100% finished because that whole engine bay looks like a bag of ass.
Me but I wasn't bitching. Just bringing up what it looks like. This one looks like Galactica with one of its FTL drive engines missing. ;)

Oh and yes that reservoir is begging for an aftermarket replacement. Or I might just remove it and paint it black. I will just check the level by opening the cap and using a flashlight to look it. It does look like and organ that has popped out of the body cavity and is exposed to outside air. Again such a small nitpick it doesn't sour anything for me. It can be cured with some paint. :)

Dam that reservoir is in such a bad spot. It's the first dam thing you look at, a definite I soar.:headbonk:

Hopefully they clean this engine bay up and put some impressive badges and covers on the parts that need to be.

i imagine that reservoir cant possibly stay there, alot of wires all over the place, these are still all hand built prototypes i imagine they have not finalized the design or supplier for that part.

Just remember: Reserve all final judgement for when the actual final product is sitting on a dealership floor.

Exactly. There are currently only 7 hand built prototypes and many details are still being worked out.

Hey, they brought it on themselves by revealing so early. They should know how rabid we are! :ford:

They intended not to open the hoods so I can't blame them. Still many months before the Mustang goes on sale so none of this bothers me.

I will say I am very disappointed by the engine cover on this. This is the picture of it, as shown in the press briefing I attended, and also in the picture in this thread. This, and the V-8 cover too, are not "form follows function" - they are trying to give the appearance of something that isn't.
Yes, there has to be an engine cover for a variety of real reasons. But both covers are bluff and bluster, posing, trying to make this into something it isn't. It makes this look like a toy, not something to be admired and shown off. And they can't and won't change before production.

Engines haven't been show worthy for years. Who wants to see a jumbled mess of wires, sensors, and environmental junk? Cheap, mass produced cars are all about function over form.
