I believe the tech guidance calls for 2.5 hours.
Ford gives their techs 1 hour labor to do the replacement. The car has to sit for 1 hour after replacement so the threadlock on the shifter ball sets up.

I have my appointment in the morning for the shifter replacement and 1st oil change. Curious if you have any feedback on the experience. Did you wait on the car and do you know how much time was spent? I believe the tech guidance calls for 2.5 hours. I work remote, so I am taking my laptop and working at the dealer.
My dealer have me a loaner. I got a call about 5 hours later to come get it. The long pole in the tent was letting the threadlocker set up and to be very careful shifting for a day until it set completely.

I had my shifter replaced today and while the original one wasn't showing any signs of weakness, I must say the new one feels a lot better. I recommend letting your dealer replace your old shifter now rather than wait until it breaks down eventually.
I'm really hoping an entire new mechanism will improve mine. It is my biggest ownership disappointment. Popping out of gear, difficulty going into Reverse or 1st, terrible shift into second - not the experience I was looking forward to.

Thank you.
On another note Is there a group of local Shelby owners that meet occasionally ?
The Denver Shelby club meets each month and has a couple of track days each year. First track day is May 30th at High Plains Raceway.
I can send club contact info if your interested. Don't have it with me now.

Im getting a $250 gift card later this year from my health insurance company as a reward for being in good health. I’m using that money for a MGW upgrade. That’s when I’ll make my swap.

Can you ask your insurance to pay me $250 for being healthy too. I badly need that MGW.

Anyone aware of recalls for this problem for the MY2020 GT350?

Just had mine done. No mess, no fuss. It was a very positive experience. The tech introduced himself and took me out to the service garage where my Shelby was on the lift. He talked me through the procedure and particularly the underside work (where I had opportunity to see my few splitter underside scrapes were minimal at most). He was enthusiastic about the car and seemed eager to do the service work. He is a BOSS 302 owner and invited me to join him and a few local Mustang buddies for their bi-weekly breakfast meet up. (Did someone say breakfast!??? I am IN). So it was a very positive experience and just over 2 hours with the oil change. The car was immaculate and not as much as a fingerprint remained after the service.

Although I know the new shifter was really to update the reverse lockout, it felt crisp and more robust than the original (which I had no issues with). I can say the left side stop of the shifter gate does feel more solid. :like:

Thank you but I am 20 miles west of Philadelphia Pa. Trying to find a group or a couple of owners alittle closer.

I had some work done yesterday. Oil change, four-wheel alignment, and the shifter replacement.

Oil changes at the dealership are ridiculous - $158.52 for (10) quarts of 5w50 and a FL2087 filter - and that's just the parts.

Same stuff for $106 from RockAuto delivered to my door - paid $30 labor to the dealership - saved over $52.

Alignment was pretty good but now it's perfect.

Shifter really doesn't feel that much different and the tech left me a present - why they went light gray on the seating area I will never know...

I'll be furious about that stain on the seat. They don't care about customers how pay they bills.
